For most men, the thought of a 16 year old Swedish girl called Greta would conjure up a certain image that could best be described astrologically as belonging to a Sun / Moon Libra.
But Greta Thunberg could not be further from this picture even if she deliberately set out to do so.
There is tremendous pressure on teenage girls to look a certain way and present an image. Some signs are more set up to do this naturally. Libra is certainly one of them.
There is one sign that really isn’t and natives of this sign often find their teenage years to be extremely difficult, as if they should have been born aged 30.
Capricorns are the most serious minded of all the 12 signs, particularly if the Moon is there too. They are born with this outlook and only start to lighten up as they get older.
All the Zodiac signs symbolise something of the energies that are in play in nature at the time of year that the Sun is going through them. That is the essence of what astrology is about.
In Capricorn, the Sun is at its weakest, it’s furthest point away. We are in winter, the weather is harsh and unremitting, snows and storms make daily life very difficult. Many animals go into hibernation, keeping their breathing and heart rate at a minimum. Those that are out and about have to get used to existing on extremely spare rations and have to be tough to survive.
They are not concerned with frivolous stuff like the way the appear, they are simply grateful to make it through the day.
The other thing about Capricorn is that although it starts at the Winter Solstice, when light is at its minimum, the sign is inching its way forward.
Consequently the Capricorn personality cannot be understood unless this is taken into consideration. The Capricorn’s job is to take the tiny delicate light of life and shield it from the storms, gradually moving forward one step at a time, always with its eye on the path to be followed, waiting patiently for the weather to improve even slightly so that there is hope for the future.
Capricorns always have a long term goal in sight. They have to play the long game. If they try to party and enjoy the moment, they will relax and given the hostility of the natural environment around them, they risk losing their life.
It is a sign that is often misunderstood.
Many people say they are materialistic, obsessed with personal advancement. Maybe this comes because so many identify signs and houses.
Capricorn is the 10th sign. The 10th house is the place of career and social standing. If someone has a stellium in this house they will focus most of their energy on achievement and getting to the top.
All Capricorns have goals, they have to. They will always approach these goals in a pragmatic, realistic way. They will assess everything in terms of whether it helps them towards their goals or not. Anything that is useful they will keep, anything else will be jettisoned.
But these goals do not have to be materialistic ones. It depends on the house as to where they place their energy. And some houses are quite selfless.
Of course we don’t have a birth time for Greta Thunberg. But Capricorn Research has a method of rectification that combines the use of horary and the testing of charts with transits.
My feeling for Thunberg is that she has Capricorn rising as well.
What you see is very much what you get.
A Sun, Moon, Ascendant Capricorn is as single minded as they come. Their vision is an extremely narrow, obsessive one. Other people cannot see it, and certainly cannot see how or why they will devote their whole lives to it.
Greta Thunberg has been diagnosed with Aspergers, OCD and selective mutism.
Capricorn Research also has the Sun and Moon in Capricorn in the 12th house with Capricorn Rising. I would not suggest that I have any of those syndromes, my own behaviour at Greta’s age might have pointed in those directions and I have been accused of being on the spectrum by a number of people over the years, because of that singleminded devotion to the cause of astrology and an utter refusal to compromise and be shifted from my own mountain path by anything.
The 12th house Sun and Moon shows that Greta has to lose her sense of her small self in the pursuit of something much bigger. She does not care for herself and her own little teenage concerns. These have all been sacrificed for the good of the planet.
She is obsessed with the long term future of our planet. Many people are concerned about this but it would take a triple Capricorn to utterly devote their every waking moment to it throughout their teenage years and be completely unmoved by the daily concerns that dominate the lives of her peers.
She does not see her Aspergers as a disadvantage, in fact she has referred to it as a superpower.
On top of this, the above chart places the Capricorn Mercury right on the Ascendant, which gives her the ability and drive to speak her message bluntly, in simple, stark terms. In true minimalist Capricorn style, she only speaks ” when necessary “. But when she does her words have incredible force.
Some people have questioned why a 16 year old girl has to be so serious and unsmiling.
One glance at her chart would show that such questions would be dealt with contemptibly.
Greta’s Moon, Ascendant and Mercury are sextile to a Venus / Mars conjunction in Scorpio, a really tough combination. This girl will not be sidetracked and she can be totally determined and ruthless in the pursuit of her agenda.
That Venus and Mars is conjunct in the 9th, shows the capacity to expand her agenda onto the global stage and also shows how she was able to do that transatlantic sailing.
Pluto is in the 10th indicating a sudden, powerful projection into the public eye.
And as with every other article on this website, it is the transits of Pluto that propelled her so strongly into the public consciousness.
She has been aware of climate change since the age of 8.
In 2014 at the age of 11, she became depressed and lethargic, stopped talking and eating. Pluto was conjunct her Sun from 2013 – 15.
Pluto went on to conjunct her Moon from 2017 – 18. She began the school climate strikes in 2018, at the age of 15, sitting on her own outside the Swedish parliament every day for 3 weeks.
She said “I am doing this because you adults are shitting on my future.”
Throughout 2019, Saturn has joined in being conjunct her Moon. This has made her even more determined and hard-nosed.
The ” How Dare You ” speech to the UN was a real Saturn style indictment. Rather than being a child herself, she has become the only grown up in a world of naive children who want to go on believing fairy tales of eternal economic growth while the planet is burning.
And she is not going away either. If my rectification is correct, Pluto will be conjunct her Ascendant in 2020 / 21.
She will also have Jupiter on her Sun in January. As well as Saturn conjunct her Ascendant.
We have all been worried about the upcoming Saturn / Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. Greta Thunberg is one person who is using this energy to good effect, maybe enabling us all to see a positive side to the energy and a way out before catastrophe strikes.
Donald Trump has sarcastically called her a ” happy girl “. His view of young girls is that they should all be featuring in Playboy.
Greta Thunberg is not a ” happy bunny “.
And given her Pluto transits and his Neptune ones over the next couple of years it will be interesting to see who is laughing then.
