As a rule I stay clear of making generalised comments about the effect of planets transiting through a sign but Uranus in Taurus has brought us cryptocurrency, allowing ordinary people to make great profits very quickly but also to lose them just as fast. 

There is a lot of talk about Uranus impact on Taurean financial institutions but what about the other way round ? 

Maybe the Uranian ideals of equality and freedom are compromised by the fact that the planet is transiting a very conventional, capitalistic sign. 

So perhaps Taurus is impacting on Uranus by turning unconventional mavericks into people who are obsessed with their own financial portfolios. 

This has parallels with the last time Uranus was in Taurus. 

The idealistic energy that had been present when it was in Aquarius with the Bolshevik revolution and other socialist movements at the end of the 1st world war, pretty much disappeared in Taurus. 

Leninism gave way to Stalinism and Socialism in Germany to National Socialism. 

In a relatively short time these Uranian freedom movements had turned into their exact opposite. The nature of the thing being offered had changed completely. 

Taurus is also associated with food. The last time Uranus was in that sign, radical changes in food production occurred. Mass production was about to change the nature of what we eat. 

The idea may well have started out as a well intentioned Uranian ideal to feed people more cheaply, but the results have perhaps changed the quality of food itself and not obviously for the better. 

When I first thought of looking up the chart for McDonalds I wondered if Taurus would come up.

It does. Just a little. 

Many times a day I just have to laugh out loud at the sheer audacity and simplicity of astrology.

The chart for the opening of the first McDonald’s restaurant has a stellium in the sign. As Jupiter is in the final minutes of Aries we can also include it as a Taurean Big Mac of planets.

The interesting thing is the conjunction of the Sun with Uranus, which when you think of the latter’s association with technology, makes perfect sense.

In 1940, McDonald’s would have begun a food revolution.

More equality however is not the same thing as more quality. 

What may have started out as a genuine attempt to feed the masses cheaply turns into a very efficient instrument to rot their minds and bodies and make them vote for conservative parties. 

So very Uranus in Taurus. 

As a Sun, Moon and Ascendant Capricorn I’m more brown rice and date slice than mechanically reconstituted donkeys anuses. 

I managed to reach the age of 65 without ever eating a Maccas burger and only relented to support my teenage step daughter who had just got a job there. 

Needless to say we’ve both moved on and emerged from the experience untainted. 

So what to expect when Maccas has its Uranus Return in 2024 ? Perhaps it will go full veggie and ban meat from all its outlets. That would be cow ( Taurus ) liberation ( Uranus ).

Or perhaps eco zealots ( Uranus ) will stop throwing paint at works of art ( Taurus ) and blow up those arches instead. 

Or maybe they will simply buy shares in Mcdonalds and bore us all to death about how many quarter pounders they’ve made.
