I first came across the term Teflon in association with politicians 40 years ago when Pat Schroeder, a Democrat used it to denounce President Ronald Reagan. “He has been perfecting the Teflon-coated presidency: He sees to it that nothing sticks to him.” ( apart from the strange black dye on his head obviously ).

This non-stickability was probably helped by the fact that he conducted all his press conferences under the whirling blades of a helicopter and his age allowed him to feign deafness. 

I’ve always felt that the most overrated sign of the Zodiac is Aquarius. They’re all convinced they are great astrologers / idealists / rebels.

It is a Fixed Air sign so they hold tightly to their own ideology, but whether that is progressive or reactionary will usually depend on other factors.

With a Sun square to a Taurus Moon, Ronald Reagan was firmly in the latter camp.

The Sun being at the apex of a T Square he went from monkey’s assistant to ” leader of the free world ” without even qualifying as an organ grinder first.

I now know that every decision he made was taken on astrological advisement, so of course there would be no need for him to have an actual brain.

Which is probably just as well because Mercury in Capricorn opposite Neptune is not going to be joining Mensa.

It is also an intriguing combination of being utterly delusional but pragmatically so. His feigned ” aw shucks ” political naivety was always to back his own interests.

This placement is economical with the truth but also Neptune allows nothing to stick to him.

Its interesting that the inventor of Teflon, Roy J Plunkett was born only a few months before Reagan and they share many of the same placements.

Plunkett’s Moon is in Aquarius conjunct Plank’s Sun.

Also the former discovered Teflon by accident in 1938 when Jupiter was conjunct those two placements.

Maybe without Teflon, Ronald Reagan wouldn’t have made it through the 1984 election. Mind you without his astrological adviser telling him to work with Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev, probably none of us would have.

If you’ve ever wondered how a Reagan Presidency without belt and braces astrological support would look, we have a perfect example.

Donald Trump is many things and most of them have been covered fairly extensively on these pages but he has some very similar aspects to Ronald Reagan.

Ron has a Sun / Moon square, Don has them in opposition.

Ron has both of them aspecting Jupiter, so does Don.

Ron has a Venus / Saturn sextile, Don has the conjunction.

But for the purposes of this piece, they both have Mercury afflicted by Neptune.

The only difference between them is that while Ronald Reagan feigns deafness, with Donald Trump everyone else does.

Both of them have the ability to make nothing stick, probably because the Teflon Jupiter is conjunct Ronald’s Sun and trine Donald’s.

And while that conjunction obviously worked, the trine has allowed Trump to get away with a list of sexual and financial assault charges that would make both Jimmy Savile and Bernie Madoff blush.

In my early days as an astrologer, my main claim to fame was having a letter printed in the Guardian stating ( wrongly as it obviously turned out ) that Reagan’s Saturn transits would make him lose the 1984 election.

But a triple Capricorn always learns from his mistakes, and I resolved never to overestimate the power of a right wing megalomaniac nut job’s difficult transits. Or to underestimate their good ones.

With Donald Trump, I have always tried to stay at least a year ahead of the game.

I predicted his win in November 2016 in June 2015 ( when he was a 40 / 1 outsider ), based on Uranus and Jupiter forming trines / sextile to his Sun and Moon.

I announced his 2020 defeat in October 2019, when he was riding high in the polls because Neptune was about to square both lights. But the transit was only beginning with his defeat to Joe Biden and I was hoping for more.

The problem with Neptune is it’s hard to put your finger on what would actually happen.  This would apply to both the client himself and the astrologer trying to predict it

Obviously it’s square to his 10th house Gemini Sun would make him lose the election and whine on about it being a fake. 

You can only hope that Neptune in Pisces transiting his 8th house cusp in square to his 4th house Moon would have him drown in some climate change related tidal wave specifically targeted at Mar A Lago.

” Will he end up in prison ?

This is hard to say. Neptune will certainly take him down further but how far ?

The transit to his Sun and Moon continues until early February 2023, but my feeling is that most of the damage will be done between now and March 2022.

If Trump acquires an orange jump suit to go with his face in this time frame, then we can safely say his political career is over.

If not, the future is quite disturbing.

Trump’s victory in 2016 was down to the transits of Jupiter and Uranus, both of which are very powerfully and favourably placed in his natal chart.

In 2024, both of these two come to conjunct his Midheaven.

Jupiter will also be aspecting his Sun and Moon through the Autumn of 2024 and Spring of 2025.

And you wouldn’t bet against him making a comeback with those transits.

We can but hope that Neptune will finally put Donald Trump out of circulation, but if it doesn’t, he will return madder than ever. “

Neptune is now at 25 Pisces and the only thing that has stuck to Teflon Don is one of his nappies.

There are still many court cases to come and no doubt several minions will find their way to jail but Donald Duck is floating above his Neptune swamp in a swan costume.

This is of serious concern because Trump has put his hat in the ring for the 2024 Presidential election and his transits are certainly good enough to win it. In fact they are quite similar to the 2016 combo.

Between September 2024 and May 25 Jupiter will be opposite his Moon. Even though it doesn’t actually get there until May, on Election Day it will be less than 3 degrees from the conjunction with his Sun.

Uranus will be right on his Midheaven as well.

How does the astrology look for the incumbent ?

The transit Pluto is about to square Joe Biden’s Moon, and this will still be in operation for the 2024 election.

Uranus will also be opposite his Sun.

These are big shock transits.

If someone was a complete outsider like Trump was himself in 2016, it could be the type of thing that would put them in the Oval Office, but for an incumbent the only possible direction is down and out.

Given that Biden has a natal Sun / Uranus opposition from the 12th to 6th house I expect his Uranus Return to be all about his poor health.

There is also a problem with China. In my recent article Will There Be An Early Delivery Of Taiwanese Fried Rice I anticipate the Taiwan question to become a major player over the remainder of Biden’s Presidency and I fully expect Pluto’s transit square to his Moon to mean that he gets panned for his perceived weakness in confronting President Xi.

The other factor is given Biden’s Moon is in the 5th, the Hunter Biden / Chinese connection will probably be thrown into the mix as well.

I’ve been anticipating these transits ever since Sleepy Joe was elected in 2020 and I’m still thinking that he may not even be able to complete his current term.

The other factor here is that there seems to be a powerful astrological connection that links together the fates of Trump and Chinese President Xi.

It may seem strange to be looking at potential scenarios two years down the line given that there are so many factors that have to come together first for them to get an airing in the real world.

However I feel that there is something powerful that links the charts of these two Geminis that so far has not really played out. Their Suns are less than a degree apart.

Granted they both had Neptune square their Sun over the last two years, but that dumped Don on his arse, while Xi used it to give himself an extra term and cement his hold on his country even further. 

Xi has the natal Sun / Neptune trine so he is more skilled at working with it.

In the Spring of 2025 both men will have Jupiter conjunct their Gemini Sun.

They will also have Saturn square it. 

Trump’s experience of both is complicated by the fact that they will also afflict his Sagittarius Moon.

If you think he’s always been a belligerent motormouth, wait until Jupiter gets there.

Jupiter will insist that both men need to be seen as coming out on top. Saturn will probably ensure that there will be no winners here.

But Xi also has a natal Sun / Saturn trine so expect him to use the transit to enhance his reputation while what little Trump has will take a big hit.

To give the Democrats a chance of keeping hold of the Presidency in 2024, it’s imperative that Joe Biden does not seek reelection. Hopefully they can come up with an alternative that has stronger transits than Trump.

Are there any on his own team that can beat him ?

I sometimes call him Muck Donald because his place in politics is the same as the food giant holds in the world of cuisine.

What about his neighbour, Ronald the famous franchise clown ?

It’s interesting that Ronald Muck has the same Mercury / Neptune liars for hire square that Donald Duck has. And his namesake Ronald Fuck had the opposition.

Granted De Santis’ Mercury / Neptune is wider than the other two stooges but its conjunct Saturn so he could be just as economical with the truth.

One very significant feature is that his Sun at 21 Virgo lies exactly square to Trump’s Sun and Moon.

This must be why those Floridian neighbours get on so well but it also means that they will both have Jupiter transits at election time.

Trump has it conjunct his Sun and opposite his Moon, De Santis has the square.

It might be useful to point out that they will both be having Saturn transits in March 2025, probably too late to impact on the election results but perfect timing for America to wake up to the disastrous consequences of having voted for one of them.

If De Santis does win in 2024, Saturn will be opposite his Sun, pulling him into the China Syndrome as that Sun is square to Xi’s.  

Another important factor would be the Uranus transit square to De Santis Moon, or at least it would be if only we knew where it was.

My view is that any politician should be barred from seeking election unless an accurate birthtime is offered. But then again I would have all these people strangled if not at birth on their first night as members of the Young Republicans, so they probably wouldn’t listen to me.

Depending on his birth time the Uranus / Moon transit could happen any time from now until 2026.

Timing is important in these things because it’s not just about November 2024, it’s also about the Republican primaries which happen between February and June.

This is an Ugly Contest to decide which hateful old crone gets to become their party’s Queen Grimhilde to deliver the poisoned apple to an unsuspecting public.

It’s odd, but also very Republican, that they’ve never picked a woman.

Strangely enough Nikki Haley does not have a Mercury / Neptune aspect. However an apex Mercury in Capricorn in a Mars / Uranus T Square more than compensates for that.

She may have the Moon and Venus in Pisces but their place in two other T squares says that she will be no Snow White.

Nikki is no Haley Mary mother of God, more motherfucker.

Many pundits have said that she’s only thrown her hat into the ring to give her mate Donald a helping hand.

But she has the Sun in Capricorn trine Pluto and the transit will be exactly ( an orb of two minutes ) on her Sun on Election Day.

There is precedent for the first woman President to be elected with this transit.

The original Wicked Witch of Grantham had the Sun in the 11th house at the apex of a T Square including Jupiter and Pluto.

As always with this kind of thing, Pluto’s true power is unleashed when it makes the conjunction by transit to the Sun.

This happened for Thatcher in 1979 – 80. She was a total outsider and would never normally be the kind of candidate that the UK Conservative party would endorse but she was elected British Prime Minister in May 1979.

So could the same thing happen for Tricky Nikki ?

Perhaps the key here is the stage of the Pluto transit.

Having watched these transits closely for 50 years I find that the main drama occurs near the beginning of them, often at the very first hit of the transits.

This was certainly the case for Thatcher. She was not expected to become Prime Minister until the 1978 – 79 ” Winter of Discontent “.

Pluto first arrived conjunct her Sun in January 1979. The UK had been brought to its knees by strikes during the coldest winter for 16 years.

Labour Prime Minister Callaghan returned from a summit in the Caribbean joking about swimming in warm seas and uttering the words ” crisis, what crisis ? “.

Thatcher spotted her moment and went for the jugular. In less than 4 months she became the first female leader of one of the major nations.

The rest of the Pluto transit was taken up with the world adjusting to this radical new state of affairs.

Nikki Haley’s own first Pluto moment was February 2023 when she announced her candidacy. The final conjunction peaks a few days before the election.

It is possible to see the campaign itself as being the peak turning point period of her life.

When I look at Presidential candidates I want to see strong transits not only around election time, but also for the inauguration over two months later and even into the first few months of their possible time in office.

We are not seeing that with Haley.

Of course there is the possibility of a deal having already been struck with Trump where she takes votes away from De Santis in exchange for the Vice Presidency or Secretary of State.

Its always difficult without a birthtime but I am thinking the latter is quite a possibility owing to Haley’s T square focusing on a ( noon chart ) 9th house apex Mercury.

Its also interesting that she has a Sagittarius Jupiter conjunct Trump’s Moon and square her own Moon.

Saturn’s transit to this in the spring of 2025 could pitch her in with early antagonism with China.

Sometimes the chart for the announcement of candidacy can help.

It’s interesting that Nikki Haley announced her candidacy with Venus and Neptune conjunct in Pisces. This falls exactly on her natal Moon at 24 Pisces.

This is a dreamy combination, but it also looks likely that it will stay exactly that.

Neptune’s dreams don’t generally translate to political reality.

The Sun conjunct Saturn also seems to be saying no and it’s interesting that the distance between them is 1.75 degrees, which is exactly the number of years to go to the election.

So no President Haley then.

Declaring early was a smart move by Trump. It meant he could establish himself as the favourite frontrunner and anyone else putting themselves forward after him could be cast as traitors trying to undermine his natural route back to the White House.

It also means that anyone attempting to bring lawsuits against him in the meantime could be painted as Democrat sympathisers with a political agenda.

These themes are neatly reflected in the Scorpio Sun and Leo Moon.

It’s intriguing that Haley announced her candidacy with Venus on her Moon, because Trump announced his with Mars right on his Sun.

There is also a powerful Grand Cross formed of the Sun, Moon, Saturn and Uranus.

This suggests he is going to fight a very nasty and dirty campaign.

A retrograde Mars in Gemini closely square Neptune looks like fake news will be a major theme and he will be lying through his teeth.

The Sun being conjunct Mercury and Venus trine to Jupiter and Neptune suggests that this way of fighting the campaign won’t hurt him though and he could do well because of it.

And the really scary thing is how this fits with the chart for the opening of the polls.

There is a strange ritual in the USA where one tiny hamlet in New Hampshire with currently only 4 people living in it are the first to vote just a few minutes after midnight, so this becomes the opening poll chart for the election.

This is a serious concern because the chart reflects much of Donald Trump’s own.

The Ascendant is a mere degree away from his.

The Moon is only 3 degrees from his and Venus is right on it.

And the chart’s exact Mars / Pluto opposition shows what kind of campaign it’s going to be.

Are there any eclipses that might have a say ?

This coming eclipse occurs just a degree away from Joe Biden’s Taurus Moon and its square to Pluto triggers the President’s own transit.

It would probably help to have another look at Joe’s chart.

For this purpose I will quote an article I wrote a couple of months ago – Like Rabbits In The Headlights – The Year Ahead For Chas And Joe

” Biden’s Moon is at the apex of a Yod aspect pattern.

A Yod is where two ( or more ) planets are in sextile to each other and they both form 150 degree aspects to another one – the apex planet.

Biden’s Venus and the Sun are sextile his 10th house Neptune and all three are quincunx ( 150 degrees ) to his Moon.

A Yod is often considered to be a tragic aspect because 150 degrees marks the distance from the Ascendant to the 6th and 8th house cusps ( the 6th ruling health and the 8th death ).

So a Yod pointing to an apex 5th house Moon could easily signify the untimely and tragic death of a child.

In December 1972, a few weeks after Biden was elected senator his wife Neilia and one year old daughter were killed in a car accident. His sons aged 2 and 3 were injured and Joe considered resigning from the Senate to look after them but was persuaded not to. He felt ” God had played a horrible trick on him “. 

Well if it’s any consolation Joe, I’ve been following God’s plan in the years since this tragedy happened and I’ve come to the conclusion that she can be a very tricky bastard at times.

With this in mind its important to remember that Biden has Pluto in the 8th house square to his Moon.

In December 1972, Pluto was conjunct his 10th house Neptune ( elected as Senator ) and quincunx his 5th house Moon ( tragically lost a child ).

In May 2015 Joe Biden lost his son Beau to brain cancer.

In May 2015 Saturn was quincunx Biden’s Moon and conjunct his Sun and Venus.

So as Pluto comes to square Joe Biden’s Moon, its reasonable to be worried about either his own health or that of his remaining son Hunter.

And given the current MAGA obsession with Hunter Biden’s laptop, we could easily be about to witness Yod history repeating itself. “

What about nearer the election ?

The last lunar eclipse before the election falls square to Trump’s Sun and Moon.

Normally you would expect that to be unfavourable for him, but it’s always important to look at an eclipse chart as a thing in itself rather than just the eclipse degrees.

As always with a lunar eclipse the Sun / Moon opposition generates a lot of tension. That energy will find expression through any planets that from a T square to it.

In this case the apex planet is Jupiter at 20 degrees Gemini in the first house, closely conjunct Trump’s Sun.

So again it’s looking like the chaos generated by the election campaign is tending to fall in his favour.

From the perspective of humanity as a whole, all this is not looking good. There are plenty of lawsuits still waiting for Trump and it is technically possible he could go to prison for any of them.

But the best astrological chance to see him perfectly matched in an orange jump suit would have been while Neptune was square his Sun and Moon.

That chance has gone now.

Joe Biden’s transits are worse, and the upcoming eclipse suggests we should start to see evidence of that over the next couple of months.

If my fears and my reading of the astrology is correct and half of America insists on voting for a nappy full of shit what are the rest of us supposed to do once he starts throwing it around ?

Forty years ago I was just as worried about the future under Teflon Ron as I am now under Don.

I’ve already moved as far away as I can from the target area.
