The Cancer King – What Goes Around, Comes Around

Astrology states that we take on the quality of the moment of our birth.

So maybe we can gain some insight by checking out what other things happened in the world on that day.

My researches into my own birthdate show the most important thing that happened was that a long running radio detective show ” The Shadow ” came to an end. Maybe that says something about me.

My niece on the other hand was born the day after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

She has a Sun / Pluto conjunction in Scorpio in the 4th house, Moon in Aries with Leo rising.

While all the other Brits were either fawning themselves over King Sally’s coronation or getting drunk on another bank holiday while trying to ignore it, she spent the time researching the Sun, Moon and rising signs of all his predecessors.

As well as being an extremely proud uncle, I have to admit to being slightly miffed at her findings that the most common placements were Scorpio Sun, Taurus Moon and Leo Rising, making old big ears the most natural of rulers.

However it set me off looking at royal synastry over the years to see if there were any interesting Secondary Progression patterns.

And I soon came across an old favourite.

We all know that Cancers tend to have family issues and their lives can revolve around those of their children, but very few of them would be so obsessed with having a son that they ploughed through six different wives, including their dead brother’s, executing two of them and divorcing another two before divorce had even been invented.

Then again, very few of them have oppositions between their Sun and ruler to Uranus and Saturn in the house of kids and a square to the Moon in Aries in the 8th house for chopping their wives heads off.

Henry’s Venus in Gemini in the 10th house would account for the fact that there had to be so many of them and their close conjunction to the South Node would probably explain why they didn’t last long.

I have already documented this story both from Henry’s point of view – Can A Planet Have An Effect Before It’s Been Discovered and that of his hapless victims – The Six Wives Of Henry V111 – The Joys Of Mars And Saturn

All six of these poor unfortunates must be important members of Henry’s own bizarre relationship soul group who volunteered to perform their roles this time round to teach him something or other, but did he have a favourite ?

Was one of these Aries Moons his true soulmate ?

Of course there was, and we’ve all watched enough of The Tudors to know which one.

Unfortunately we don’t have a birth time or even a date for her but no matter, a coronation chart does the trick fairly nicely.

It is absurd that King Sally chose an eclipse for his own coronation chart but perhaps its understandable given that so many astrologers these days spend most of their time shouting at people on Youtube while wearing their lingerie.

King Henry didn’t have that excuse, many of them were respected members of his own court but maybe he had a false confidence because astrologer William Parron told him he ” would have a happy marriage, would father many male heirs, and be a devoted servant to the Catholic church “.

To be fair to Mr Parron, being a court astrologer in those days didn’t have the job security that Only Fans offers. You couldn’t just make stuff up or even stick to the charts.

You had to give old Hally what he wanted to hear or you’d suffer like the two blokes who told Henry V1 that he’d die a violent death.

He did, but so did they because it was a message that he didn’t want to hear.

Parron was dubbed Nostra-dumbass by no less an authority on the subject than the same Daily Mail which has devoted every single column inch for the last decade telling everyone that Prince Peggy also has a happy marriage and would never go next door in search of exotic kitchen implements.

Capricorn Research exists to expose such royal propaganda for what it is and is happy to snipe at a distance of 10,000 miles without fear of losing his own head.

And anyone who looks at the chart for the crown being placed on Anne Boleyn’s will know it won’t last long.

Her head that is, not the crown, there was still a queue of sad souls for that one.

A T Square with the Moon in Libra opposing Mars in Aries on the 8th house cusp points to Anne Boleyn’s execution and focusing on an apex conjunction of Mercury, Saturn and Uranus in Cancer, shows the reasons for it, particularly when you see how closely it dovetails with Henry’s own Cancer / Aries 8th house / Mercury / Saturn and Uranus 5th house issues.

At this point I feel its only fair to point out that your soulmate isn’t necessarily a Prince Charming figure who wakes you from your previous relationship nightmares with a kiss and you live happy ever after.

A soulmate is the closest member of your soul group that comes to you at the most important part of your incarnation to join and support you in an experience that is essential to your path this time round.

Even if that means you chop her head off in order to marry her lady in waiting and concoct some lame excuse about her having incest with her brother.

The one most reliable progression for determining the arrival of this important person in your life is that of the Sun to Venus.

If Venus is placed in your chart before the Sun, it will be the progressed Venus that will herald this.

Needless to say this only happens once in a lifetime, no matter how many wives you get through.

Henry’s progressed Venus reached the square to his Aries Moon in 1526, about the time when he is said to have become first interested in Anne Boleyn.

Venus reached the Sun in 1530 which is likely to be when their affair began in earnest.

Henry’s Progressed Sun only made one aspect to his 10th his Jupiter, this was the sextile between 1531 and 1533 during which time he got divorced from Catherine of Aragon, excommunicated from the Church, started his own religion and married Anne.

His Progressed Venus was back on song by 1536 with its opposition to Uranus triggering Anne’s execution.

Still not convinced ?

Well maybe bear in mind that the only other one Henry actually bumped off, Catherine Howard, was in 1542 when his progressed Venus was square to Pluto.

What happens to Henry 8th’s soulmates after they’ve been despatched ?

We shall never know for sure, but my feeling is they would all have to come back to work through these patterns again.

Karma is an interesting idea, some people would see Henry’s actions as requiring some kind of payback, that Anne Boleyn would get her revenge in a future clash of heads.

I like to think that soul groups work in a more sophisticated fashion and that a later agreement would be to return in a similar situation but with an astrological theme that encouraged a different learning experience.

Perhaps Henry would be reincarnated with a Sun / Moon relationship that would be altogether softer and easier than a square with a violent 8th house Aries Moon, but still with some considerable lessons to be acquired.

But I also feel that the same Sun sign and the number 8 would still be involved.

Like Henry, Edward V111 was a Cancerian with difficult planets in the 5th house and succession problems as he had no children.

While Henry had the Sun square an Aries Moon and sacrificed his wives for the sake of his family, Edward had it trine a Pisces Sun so he did it the other way round.

Edward famously fell in love with American divorcee Wallis Simpson and abdicated his crown in order to be with her..

Edward’s Sun and Moon are part of a Grand Trine with a rebellious 10th house Uranus that made his decision a fairly easy albeit controversial one.

I can still remember my grandmother telling me that it was the biggest shock of her lifetime, although she died before Sally told the world he’d rather be a tampon.

Edward’s Neptune / Pluto conjunction was quincunx his Uranus, which for Progression followers is a red flag natal pattern.

It means that at some point in his life there will be a period of a few years when his Progressed Sun will aspect all three and there will be a 5th / 10th house revolution.

This period began in 1934 when Edward’s affair with Wallis began with his Progressed Sun sextile Pluto and square to Uranus.

That very combination indicated that he would choose crone over crown.

He made that choice in December 1936 when he abdicated his throne and married her the following year, both occurring with his Progressed Sun sextile Neptune.

Edward V111’s reign lasted less than a year, there was never a coronation but the noon chart for his becoming king says it all.

The Sun is opposite Pluto, a sure sign that a revolution is on the way.

The rest of the chart reveals why.

The Moon conjunct Venus and Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 7th house shows that he had fallen in love with a foreigner, it’s square to Neptune in the 5th indicated that he was already having an illicit affair with her.

The Sun / Pluto opposition forming a T square with an apex Uranus in the 12th house meant that not only would Edward abdicate but he would also live out the rest of his life in exile.

Intriguingly that Uranus is exactly conjunct the Sun of niece Elizabeth and the Moon of great nephew Sally showing how it changed their future lives.

What of the 20th century Meghan Markle ?

Intriguingly Wallis Simpson also had a ” finally gets her man ” trine of the lights, with a 5th house of affairs Sun and 9th house of foreigners Moon.

She also had Uranus in the 10th house of disrupting the status quo and the Neptune / Pluto revolution was in the 4th house of families.

If we look for the most regal planet in Wallis Simpson’s chart its obviously Jupiter in Leo.

This was confirmed by progression when she first met Edward in 1931 with her progressed Venus beginning its conjunction with Jupiter and Wallis finally married her Gromit in 1937 with her Progressed Sun forming the same conjunction.

Edward V111 sacrificed his throne and family for his wife exactly 400 years after Henry V111 beheaded his own wife for the sake of his own family.

There have been no more Henrys or Edwards.

Maybe that reincarnation theme has come full circle.

But what about my niece ? Did she ever meet her soulmate ?

Absolutely at Uni when her progressed Mars was conjunct her Sun. His Moon is conjunct her Sun and his Sun is in the same sign as her Moon. They have been together for 13 wonderful years.

And she didn’t even have to chop off any heads first.

But as she has Sun conjunct Pluto in Scorpio, Moon in Aries and Leo rising, I feel sure she would have done that if she needed to.
