There are a lot similarities between the Democrats and many Media Astrologers. They are both very good at spinning a failure as a great success.
The Democrats have lost control of the House of Representatives, while just holding onto the Senate but they are painting this as a success because its not as big a thrashing as they had previously expected.
A number of media astrologers were asked about the election and all of them predicted chaos and the unexpected, but none of them dared to say anything specific – see Astrologers Blood Moon Eclipse
This has been their standard take over the last few years since so many of them were embarrassed by their certainty that Hilary Clinton was going to be President in 2016.
Basically if you predict ” the unexpected ” or ” change ” it’s fairly likely that you can claim any actual result as being something you foresaw.
I often wonder how their highly respected forebears would have been received had they answered the question ” Is the ship with my goods safe or will it be sunk ? ” with ” you have to expect the unexpected but if you pay more to join my patreon I’ll tell you the same thing using more words “.
Back in the day, astrology was about judgement. Anyone wishing to make a career of it would have had to demonstrate the ability to answer specific questions clearly and for their analysis to be borne out by what actually happened.
These days it’s mostly about making general platitudes about Sun signs.
I am happy to stick my neck out and make an actual judgement. I am not scared of getting it wrong. If I do I go back to the charts and try and work out what I misjudged in order to be more accurate next time.
On 9th October I published my piece on Understanding The SeeSaw Effect On The US Midterm Elections.
My overall conclusion was ” Looking at all of this evidence together, it seems to be pointing to the GOP just about taking control over both houses of Congress.”
Technically, the Democrats have just about retained control of the Senate, although it will be interesting to see what Joe Manchin and Kirsten Sinema make of that. But they have lost the House and hence have lost control of Congress.
The eclipse See Saw effect between the Sun, Ascendant, Mercury and Venus and the Moon and Uranus does suggest a further polarising of American politics, but perhaps its also fair to see this as both sides being evenly balanced in Congress.
I now feel that my own prediction of a narrow Republican win in both houses was due to giving too much influence to the last time this kind of thing appeared at the Midterms, which was in 1938 when FDR dramatically lost control of Congress.
While I believe it is useful to go back in time to look for astrological precedent it is always important to see the chart of each event as having its own uniqueness.
All four potential leaders of both houses have difficult Saturn transits for the New Year so that wasn’t very helpful in giving a clear indication of victory.
For Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell the likely impact of their parties not winning control of their respective houses, will probably be retirement sometime in 2023.
Kevin McCarthy, despite the fact that he is likely to become Speaker of the House, seems to be facing his own internal problems with a right wing group threatening to refuse to back him.
Maybe Chuck Schumer as Democratic Senate majority leader might experience problems as well because the lead is so small and Sinema and Manchin are still there.
Joe Biden also has Saturn transits coming up and the net effect of these elections has been to deny him the technical majority that he did have in his first two years.
But in the end he might be relieved by this result.
There have been only two elections since the war where a Democratic President hasn’t lost both houses in his first midterms.
The most recent was Jimmy Carter who was beaten two years later by a TV chimp’s dumber partner.
The other one was JFK. Since the Republicans couldn’t take the house off him they arranged to have him killed a year later.
Given the current state of post eclipse US politics, 2024 could see either happening again.
And either would probably see the media astrologers claim they predicted it, because we have to ” expect the unexpected “.
