According to Elon Musk, we’re all going to lose our jobs to AI. Should astrologers be worried?
Writers can have their style instantly plagiarised and hundreds of novels can be turned out in the style of Jane Austen or J K Rowling, so why not of someone bleating on YouTube for two hours straight about how Pluto in Aquarius is going to make everyone rich.
The livelihoods of Film and TV scriptwriters are particularly threatened as we saw last year when they all went on strike.
But if we keep a close eye on the heavens, every challenge is an opportunity.
The TV studios could employ an astrologer to come up with the perfect chart for the show they want to make and AI could churn out scripts thirteen to the dozen.
If they wanted a hospital drama, we could look for Virgo/Pisces and a 6th house emphasis. If it focused on a kids/maternity ward the 5th house would have to be strong.
If it’s star turn was a handsome doctor with an eye for the ladies but commitment issues, we’d need Mars in cadent houses challenged by Uranus and Neptune.
But he would still have to be a caring person devoted to his work, so that Mars would have to be in a sign like Cancer and focusing on a T square apex planet in the 6th house.
Of course any successful soap would have to have a particular love interest theme, so what about one with a troubled nurse who’d had an affair with said doctor but in the 1st episode makes a suicide attempt?
Venus in Scorpio in the 6th house. She survives thanks to the attentions of the medics in the same hospital so Venus trine Saturn in Pisces.
Could AI come up with something like that?
Well maybe, but it would never be as good as the one the Universe served up for us.

The pilot episode of ER had all those features and more besides.
The Sun in Virgo in the 5th opposite Moon in Pisces and Mars in Cancer covers the main themes of the show, even down to the nurse having the doctor’s twin babies.
Mars in Cancer in the 3rd ticks that box. In opposition to Uranus/Neptune in the 9th meant Doug Ross had to leave the hospital to work elsewhere.
What happened to Carol Hathaway then?
For that we just have to check the ER progressed Venus.
Just under 4 degrees away is a conjunction with Jupiter, the 7th house ruler. So when Venus reaches Jupiter by progression, Carol and Doug become an item.
In season 6 episode 21, shown on May 11th 2000, this is what happens. With the progressed Venus exactly conjunct Jupiter.
This is always likely to happen with a progression of Venus to the 7th house ruler.
In a TV show, even a long running one like ER, we are talking about half a Jupiter cycle.
In real life it might be half a Uranus one.
The actor who played Doug Ross was of course George Clooney.

With Venus in Aries, George (much like Doug) has been known for playing the field.
His relationship history reads like a Hollywood Venus in Aries playbook – Kelly Preston, Ginger Lynn Allen, Cameron Diaz, Frances Fisher, Charlize Theron, Lucy Liu, Lisa Snowden, Renée Zellweger, Jennifer Lopez, Siebel Newsom, Krista Allen, Linda Thompson.
But at some point, George Clooney would meet his match.
His 7th house ruler is Mercury, nearly 38 degrees on from his Venus, so he obviously wasn’t going to settle down early on.
But when George’s progressed Venus reached its conjunction with Mercury in 2013-14, at the age of 42, he met and became engaged to Amal Alamuddin, a human rights barrister.
“A mutual friend of ours said, ‘I’m stopping by and can I bring my friend?’ And I was like, ‘Of course.’ I got a call from my agent, who called me and said, ‘I met this woman who’s coming to your house who you’re gonna marry.’’’
Simple as that.
But this was a meant to be anyway. Because progressions are different from transits.
Transits (particularly of the outer planets) can feel like you’re a reluctant participant in some grand scale space invaders game, where you’re having to dodge bombs being dropped on you by aliens.
With secondary progressions it’s an unfolding of something that is already in you. Each planet has a path that it has to follow and each stage relates to all the others.
We can only progress the personal planets, the outers would barely move by this method in a lifetime.
George Clooney’s Venus path to reach his Mercury, had to pass through square aspects to his Moon, Saturn and Mars.
This happened in 1991 – 92, when he split from his first marriage to Talia Balsam, when they were both at the beginning of their acting careers.

We don’t have a birthtime for Talia but her synastry with George is very strong.
Her Sun is conjunct his Ascendant.
But most importantly, their Moons at the end of Capricorn are conjunct.
Clooney’s relationship with Talia was the result of progressions to his natal Venus.
His progressed Mars was trine his Venus when they met in 1984.
His progressed Sun was sextile his Venus when they married in 1989.
Talia’s own progressed Sun was conjunct her Venus when they met. Her progressed Venus was also sextile her Sun.
In the absence of a birthtime, which would gives us the 7th house ruler, Talia’s Venus progressions for 1984 were the strongest of her whole lifetime.
“Despite its eventual unraveling, the relationship seemed to be based on real love. Clooney said in 1996 that he “married the one girl” he “truly loved and had loved for years.” Contentious divorce notwithstanding, neither actor has said a bad word about the other since their split in 1992″
George Clooney has the Moon closely conjunct Saturn, so while he was meant to get married to Talia, his experience of it had to fit with that aspect in opposition to his Mars in Leo in the 5th.
And Venus’ progression to a point where it was the apex of a T square to those planets had to separate them.
But George’s 7th house ruler is Mercury

Again we don’t have a birthtime for Amal Clooney, but it is fair to say that she’s a quite different character to her husband.
Amal’s Sun/Venus in Aquarius is square to George’s Taurus Sun.
She has the Moon in Sagittarius, he has it in Capricorn.
But they both have Mars about 3 degrees apart and in opposition to a planet/s in late Capricorn (Amal’s Mercury, George’s Moon/Saturn).
As Amal Clooney has a natal Sun/Venus conjunction and no planetary placements in the next few signs, she could not have a progressed conjunction of either with any planet until she reached the age of 110.
In the absence of that we have to look at her progressed Moon which formed a T square with her Mars/Mercury opposition in 2014 when she married George.
So there we have it.
Even if your Venus is in Aries, when it aspects your 7th house ruler, you will settle down with the love of your life.
Which is probably good news for Vittoria Ceretti, the latest 25 year old girlfriend of pushing 50 and Sun/Venus/Mars in Scorpio Leonardo Di Caprio, as they met when his progressed Sun was sextile Jupiter and it will be sextile his 7th ruler Mars by the end of this year.
The only problem might be that Vittoria turns 26 in June.
Maybe she can get her birth certificate given the AI treatment.
