In astrology, timing is everything.
It’s important in natal charts because without knowing your birthtime we can get your basic character but are at a loss to know in which areas of your life your major themes will be operating.
But it doesn’t mean there will be one or even several impostors claiming to be you turning up with different birth times.
This is often happening in mundane astrology.
I can think of 5 different charts for Australia alone.
Some times the wrong chart is posted deliberately in order to confuse astrologers as to the real motives of its owner.
Adolf Hitler was a good example. Many astrologers of the day said there would be no war because they couldn’t see it in his chart.
But Capricorn Research has reason to believe they were using the wrong one. If you add an extra half an hour or so to the birthtime given, a Taurus Sun with Libra rising soon becomes one with a Scorpio Ascendant exactly opposite that Sun.
And Libra rising fits so much more with the blond, blue eyed Aries stereotype than the dark brooding Scorpio looks of Der Fuhrer himself. For more on this see Adolf Hitler – Only Got One Aspect

And the Pluto transit square Hitler’s Sun from 1937 – 40 is so much more likely to start World war Two if it was simultaneously hitting the Ascendant as well as a T square apex from his 9th house.

This desperate state of affairs was complicated by Pluto’s square with Saturn which was exactly on Hitler’s Sun.
This was the cataclysmic event that heralded the Pluto transit through Leo.
It had been flagged up in the previous eclipse as well.

25 years earlier we had something very similar.

The First World War began with a Saturn / Pluto conjunction at the beginning of Cancer. For more on this see Causes Of The First World War – Saturn And Pluto
But another really interesting point was the Sun in Leo opposite Uranus in Aquarius.

Kaiser Wilhelm 11 of Germany has a pretty intense Sun in Aquarius in the 8th house opposite Saturn T Square apex Pluto in the 10th house.
He started the war with transit Uranus conjunct his Sun right in the middle of the T Square.
So we can see a lot of similarities in the astrology for World War 1 and 2.
And it’s clear that these wars conditioned much of the human experience of Pluto in Cancer ( 1914 – 38 ) and in Leo ( 1938 – 58 ).
The war that covered the Pluto in Virgo generation ( 1957 – 72 ) was in Vietnam.
Because the US didn’t get formally involved in this war until 1964, many people believe that’s when it started, but if we were to take the moment when America got into the other two we would have missed most of the action.

Yet again Saturn and Pluto are in aspect, this time a square. And Pluto is with Jupiter at the apex of Square involving the Moon and Venus.

The North Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh has a close Sun / Moon conjunction in late Taurus in square to Saturn.
Transit Pluto and Jupiter were exactly square to this in 1955 with the start of the war.
Once Pluto had entered Libra in 1972 the war quickly came to an end.
Given that Libra is a supposedly peace loving sign, I wasn’t able to find a particular war theme for its era ( 1971 – 84 ).
The Pluto in Scorpio ( 1984 – 95 ) war was mostly to do with Aids and as such its difficult to find a singular early trigger point although the death of Rock Hudson in October 1985 did fall within a few days of an eclipse in early Scorpio conjunct Pluto.
The Sagittarius period ( 1995 – 2009 ) was all about the war with Islamic terrorism and the single event that started this era was probably the bombing of the US embassy in Kenya.

Pluto was still in the early degrees of Sagittarius although the real cause of this attack was the Sun opposite to a Moon / Uranus conjunction in Aquarius.
Along with that Moon being conjunct Neptune and square to Saturn it has the flavour of a terrorist atrocity.
And the following morning there was a lunar eclipse.

The Pluto in Capricorn period began in 2008 and is just coming to an end now.
Appropriately the Capricorn war was with the banks. The one single event that started this was

Granted Pluto is at the end of Sagittarius but would change signs 6 weeks later.
This one occurred on a Full Moon which created a T Square with onto an apex Pluto in the 2nd house of the noon chart.
In virtually every case of Pluto moving into a new sign we get an incident that encapsulates and triggers the theme of that generation. This is also usually indicated by an eclipse.
So what kind of thing can we expect with Pluto about to go into Aquarius ?
It would probably be useful to look in the obvious direction.

With the Moon right on the Ascendant you might think that China had mummy issues. If so its placing in Aquarius would indicate a very cold and detached mother who wasn’t even sure of her own gender.

A double Capricorn with a Grand Cross in the middle of Fixed signs would do that to a person ( well maybe not the gender thing ).
And 1949 was obviously a big year for Mao as Pluto was right in there conjunct his Moon.
There was a lunar eclipse less than a week after the People’s Republic began.

The eclipse degree falls exactly square to Mao’s Ascendant.
I have looked in more detail at the China chart in First Uranus Then Jupiter Then Saturn And Finally Pluto – Is This The China Syndrome ?
Regular readers will already see what I am referring to – the upcoming transit of Pluto over the Chinese Aquarius Moon and Ascendant.
This would be taking place during the years 2025 – 28.
However I was checking through some other Mundane charts and found a site that brings forward the beginning of the People’s Republic Of China by 14 minutes.

This might not seem like much but the effect is to bring forward the Pluto transit to a time frame of 2024 – 26.
How is this likely to pan out ?
There is one most arena that is most likely to be affected

The chart for Taiwan has a Venus / Jupiter conjunction around 1 Aquarius exactly conjunct the Chinese Ascendant.
It interesting that they have maintained political independence for so long.
With Pluto about to hit this pairing, you might imagine that independence is about to be changed big time.
The Taiwan Sun is square to a Mars / Saturn conjunction. Because the two charts are close together in timing, Saturn is less than 6 degrees apart.
But the Chinese Saturn is closely square the Taiwan Sun.
The noon chart for Taiwan turns this Sun / Mars / Saturn into a T square with the Ascendant.
This places the Mars / Saturn conjunction in the 7th house of enemies and focuses the T Square onto an apex 9th house Sagittarius Sun. This would definitely indicate trouble with an overseas power.
In 2024 not only will Pluto be right on those Aquarian degrees but Saturn will begin going through that T Square.
Although Pluto doesn’t actually reach the China Ascendant until 2024 it will come within half a degree of the Taiwan Venus next month.
And there is the small matter of another eclipse.

I have referred to the upcoming solar eclipse a number of times. This is because it falls with an exact square aspect to Pluto ( within half a degree ).
The fact that the eclipse falls in the 1st in Beijing and square to Pluto in the 11th, reinforces the China Moon in 1st and Taiwan Venus / Jupiter in the noon chart 11th and firmly declares that this conflict is one of ideology.
The eclipse would inevitably cause a lot of problems for anyone or anything with important placements around the beginning of the Fixed signs.
It was inevitable that the handover of power from Queen Elizabeth ( Sun at 0 Taurus ) to King Charles ( Moon in 10th house at 0 Taurus ) would occur close to this eclipse.
Charles coronation happens within two weeks of it.
So what about the main player in this arena ?

We don’t have a birthtime for Chinese President Xi, but its often the case that noon charts work well in it’s absence.
Interestingly although 7 years his junior, Xi has the Sun at the same degree as Donald Trump.
This means that over the last couple of years they’ve been having the same Neptune transit. So why hasn’t Xi been made to walk the plank and be fed to the great sea god then ?
Well for one thing, Trump was caught in a peculiar Neptune pincer movement with the transit T squaring both his Sun and Moon.
The other thing is whenever we have a transit we should consider the planet’s natal position because it will bring with it some of that energy.
Trump’s Neptune is in his 2nd house so he is delusional about money.
It has no aspects to any major placements so he is basically not used to this energy so when it comes into his life by transit it is as a total shock and he has no experience of making the most of it.
The only natal aspect it has is a square to Mercury in the 11th so when it came for his Sun and Moon he denied it, claiming it was all lies and fake news.
Xi has the Sun in close trine to Neptune, so as well as the transit being much softer for him, he would be much more adept at making the most of it.
So his response to Neptune coming to square his Sun was to shore up his leadership against any potential new wave challenge and he ” amended the Chinese Constitution to remove the two-term limit on the presidency. The Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping introduced the limit in 1982 to prevent a return to a Mao-style cult of personality. ”
He also got rid of the two opponents most likely to challenge him.
So Xi was acting like a true dictator rather than some orange King Canute.
But Xi has a Leo Moon so….
Neptune is steadily moving away from the square to both Trump and Xi’s Sun’s now, but it’s the Chinese President’s Moon that will be the real focus of attention over the next few years.
At 5.58 Leo Xi’s Moon is exactly ( to the minute ) opposite the original China Ascendant, so the upcoming Pluto transit would be a massive one for him as well as his country.
But as with the China chart, timing is everything and a noon chart leaves something to be desired here.
So would it be possible to rectify Xi’s chart so we could know exactly where his Moon is ?
My usual method of rectification would be to check the chart ( particularly the Moon ) with previous transits.
The only previous Pluto / Moon transit Xi had was the square in 1986 and it opposed Venus 1986 – 7.
This could easily fit as Xi met singer Peng Liyuan in 1986 and they married the following year.
However, Pluto’s difficult aspects to the Moon usually involve the destruction of something in ones personal or emotional life in order to make way for a new experience.
Xi had been previously married to Ke Lingling but they ” fought almost every day ” and divorced in the early 1980s.
This might coincide with the Pluto / Moon transit with the Venus one being Xi’s 2nd marriage.
But there is one method of rectification that I have come to trust more and more over the years, that is the use of horary.
If the idea to ask the question comes strongly and randomly enough to your mind, the likelihood is that it will be an appropriate one for the horary method.
So…

I know its odd but I had forgotten that the Moon had just moved into Leo when I asked this question so the horary is answering the question fairly emphatically.

If we replicate the Moon’s position for Xi it gives us the above natal chart.
A 2nd house Sun / Mars conjunction is quite plausible and a Taurus Ascendant with Jupiter rising really does seem like a fit.
And the Moon degree is exactly opposite the Chinese Ascendant ( to within 8 minutes ). As well as the exact opposition to the Taiwan Venus / Jupiter.
Of course this brings forward his own Pluto transit to 2024 – 25 just like that of his country.
What about Xi’s direct opponent ?

The Taiwanese President has a Sun / Jupiter conjunction in Virgo with the Moon in Cancer, which seems like a very appropriate combination for someone who has to spend much of her life defending the borders of a small nation against much bigger and more powerful neighbours.
Tsai Ing-wen’s most prominent synastry with Xi Jingping is that Moon conjunct his Mars.
Which does look like some kind of assault on those borders.
Saturn moves into opposition to Tsai’s Sun from late May this year, so maybe the sandbags should be ordered.
What is likely to happen ?
Maybe it’s useful to look at a similar situation.

The Treaty Of Nanking in 1842 marked the secession of Hong Kong from China to British rule.
In 1997 the transit Pluto was square to the Nanking Sun and opposite its Moon and Hong Kong was handed back.
Pluto was of course sextile the China Moon at the time.
So what does that mean for the coming Pluto transit ?
Could there be a Chinese invasion of Taiwan and would that lead to a major conflict that will fuel the Pluto in Aquarius generational theme ?
This is obviously a scary prospect but before I start to sound like some old git standing on a street corner wearing nothing but a sandwich board claiming the end of the world to be nigh, it might be useful to look at what happened the last time Pluto aspected China’s Moon / Ascendant and Taiwans’ Venus / Jupiter.
We are talking about square aspect and the period from 1982 – 85.
” This marked China’s transition from a planned economy to a mixed economy with an increasingly open-market environment. China adopted its current constitution on 4 December 1982 “
It was generally seen as an open period in Chinese political history, perhaps going along with the more positive aspects of the Aquarius Moon and Ascendant. It certainly gave a previously denied voice to student and dissident movements.
However this liberalising period did meet with some dissent from the older cultural revolutionaries and Pluto’s square to the China Mars in 1989 brought about the Tianamen Square massacre.
If the Taiwan question is to become the first incident of the Pluto in Aquarius theme, it’s likely to have an impact far beyond the Formosa Strait.
Who else could be dragged into it ?

Us President Joe Biden has the Moon at 1 Taurus in square to the China Moon / Ascendant and Taiwan Venus / Jupiter.
Pluto will be square to Biden’s Moon for the next two years and the upcoming eclipse falls right on it.
I have suggested that this could cause all manner of problems for sleepy Joe, everything from health issues to actually being assassinated and even at this late stage I still think its possible that he won’t complete his term of office.
But the Pluto transit could equally be Sleepy Joe’s China Syndrome.
Maybe the way he handles it or doesn’t will impact on his still stated desire to seek re-election.
Whatever it is, we are likely to get a glimpse in the coming months and I don’t see him winning in 2024 because of it.
Donald Trump will have Jupiter and Uranus on his Midheaven in time for the election.
Other interesting political fallout could be felt in the UK and Australia.
The next year or so will be big for the leaders of both countries.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has Uranus and Jupiter coming onto his Taurus Sun, the Labour leader Keir Starmer has Saturn about to oppose his Virgo Sun.
In Australia we have the upside down version, Labor PM Anthony Albanese has Saturn about to conjunct his Pisces Sun, opposition Coalition leader Peter Dutton will have Uranus and Jupiter opposite his Scorpio Sun.
My own view is that China is not nearly the kind of threat to global peace that right wing western leaders make it out to be.
So even if the April eclipse does bring an increase in hostility between China and Taiwan, the overall effect of the Pluto transit might be a favourable one.
But of course its in the interest of these people to paint China as this evil empire whose hidden aim is to conquer us all and force us to work in Shein sweatshops.
My view is even if China invades Taiwan why should that mean we have to risk World War 3 ?
There are many comparable situations around the world ( Israel / Palestine, Saudi / Yemen, Russia / Ukraine ) where the conservative forces in the west are reluctant to get involved.
The Republicans have always dragged their feet over Ukraine, probably because they see Vladimir Putin as their best route back to the White House.
I have no doubt that Trump, Sunak and Dutton will make massive political capital out of a Pluto transit over Taiwan. They might claim to be against a Chinese invasion but you can bet they are really looking forward to it.
Because when it comes to it, nothing improves the fortunes of right wing parties like the threat of war. And if managed well, the China syndrome could turn their parties domestic fortunes around overnight.
All three of them will be queueing up to be Uber drivers delivering Taiwanese Fried Rice.
