I am generally reluctant to write articles about puerile, narcissistic pratts because they get far too much of the attention that they are obsessed with anyway.
But every so often, events and astrology transits insist that I do.
I managed to ignore Donald Trump for the first 60 years of my life, but since then the demented Orange Utan has barely been off these pages.
I am seriously hoping his final Neptune transits finish him off and I can go back to ignoring him again.
So far I have managed to avoid the world’s richest spider crab – but apparently no elonger.
I have found Cancer to be among the most acquisitive of signs, because they are essentially trying to use money to help fill an emotional security need.
Musk has his Cancer Sun rising so whereas most of these natives would keep their issues to themselves because they feel that it would make them vulnerable to being manipulated by others, a 1st house Sun means he has to play these insecurities out in full public view.
As you would imagine the 2nd and 8th houses of money would have to be very strongly tenanted.
Elon Musk has a T square that focuses onto a 2nd house Moon in Virgo which makes him obsessed with money to a peculiar degree.
He also has a Bucket type chart with Mars in the 8th house as the handle planet, so the major theme in his life is ruthlessly acquiring other people’s hard-earned cash while at the same time trying to give the impression that this makes him a cool dude.
This also has the effect of creating an extremely powerful 20 degree area of the Zodiac between 19 Aquarius / Leo and 9 Pisces / Virgo which will have a massive impact on Musk’s financial situation.
The fact that this range of degrees would be trine his Ascendant and Sun just makes it even more auspicious.
Something that often happens with very rich people is that they believe their bank balance is evidence of their own skill and ingenuity rather than simply good fortune or the ruthless ability to advance themselves at the expense of others.
Jupiter transited through this late Aquarius early Pisces in 1997 – 8 while Musk was in the process of converting Zip 2, a startup that he founded with his brother into something that was sold for $300m.
Between January 2001 and June 2004, Uranus followed the same path, during which time our little Muskrat set up and sold Paypal and became the majority shareholder of Tesla.
Astrology is intrinsically very simple.
Tesla’s Sun is in Cancer, conjunct Musk’s own.
That Sun is trine to a Mars / Uranus conjunction which just says they will be very good at making electric cars.
Uranus was exactly conjunct that Mars and trine his own Sun when Musk bought into the company.
Each time Jupiter goes through these areas reinforces Musk’s belief in his own preeminence and expertise when it is just simply good fortune.
Between March 2021 and February 2022, Jupiter transited through Musk’s hot range as Tesla produced the first electric car to sell 1 million units and reached a market capitalisation of $1 trillion.
Musk sold 10% of his holding for $16.4 billion.
But as we all know, what goes up can also go down.
In March 2022, Saturn reached Elon Musk’s Mars.
In April he made an offer of $ 43 bn to buy Twitter which included $12.5 billion in loans against his Tesla stock. Tesla’s stock market value sank by more than $125 billion the next day in reaction to the deal, causing Musk to lose around $30 billion of his net worth.
The eclipse in May occurred as Musk announced the deal to buy Twitter was put on hold.
Saturn turned retrograde in June and he terminated the deal the following month.
Saturn started moving forward again on 23rd October. Twitter sued and Musk was finally forced to buy the social media giant on October 27th.
At the time of writing Saturn is at 18.54 Aquarius and about to traverse the whole of Elon Musk’s range completing its passage to 9 Pisces in February 2024.
Tesla’s share price seems to be strongly tied to the fortunes of Musk anyway but from April 2023 to February 2024 you would expect significant falls as Saturn will be conjunct the company’s Mars.
Since Saturn has been in this range, Elon Musk’s fortune has dropped by over $ 100 billion.
So that’s just another $ 200 billion to go then.
