This is a monumentally important week for the world.

We have Donald Trump’s inauguration and the growing likelihood of a ceasefire in Gaza.

No doubt many people will look to link both events. And perhaps they are. Certainly all the noises that the orange ogre has been making around this conflict would suggest he would be happy to blow the Palestinians to kingdom come if they don’t immediately cave in to all Israeli demands.

We could very quickly get the same kind of result from the war in Ukraine. After all Vladimir Putin would be expecting some kind of return on all that Trump sponsorship over the last decade.

In the world of astrology we all know that these people are merely pawns in a much bigger game. But we might still argue amongst ourselves as to who is the real king, queen, knight or bishop.

Many would say that as the Sun conjoins Pluto, this weekend becomes the first real marker set down for the new era in Aquarius.

This is a compelling astrological narrative, and one that sits powerfully at the top of the Inauguration chart.

The Maggots will no doubt herald this moment as some kind of revolution, an era of tough love that brings the world to heel.

The T square with Mercury in the 9th opposite Mars in Cancer focusing onto an apex Moon in Libra would bring peace to all those wars “over there”.

We all know that “truth is the first casualty of war” a quote originally attributed to the Greek tragedy playwright Aeschylus, who intriguingly was born in 525 BC.

It would also be fair to say that since his time, astrological truth has often been the second one.

Most of the wars that have occurred since then have seen the combatants consulting astrologers either because they believed in the stars themselves or because they knew that their soldiers did.

Whether it was Karl Kraft working for the Nazis or William Lilly offering help to both sides in the English Civil War, astrologers of the past have generally been quite adept at assessing which way to jump if they wanted to keep their heads in conjunction with their bodies.

These days the threat is less to our actual selves and more to our reputations, preferred methods and status amongst our followers, but it is still just as difficult to acquire the necessary political and astrological objectivity to pronounce judiciously on Mundane affairs.

Astrology is all about trying to see the bigger picture, and tempting as it is to provide a simple Pluto in Aquarius narrative, the truth is probably a lot more complicated than that.

To truly attempt to understand the situation in Gaza we should look at the moment that triggered it.

The T Square with the Moon in Cancer opposite Pluto in the 4th house focused onto an apex Mars was clearly the pattern that caused the Hamas Attack in October 2023, and the Israeli genocidal response to it.

It’s interesting now that we are on the verge of a ceasefire that could actually work, we have transit Mars in that T square again, having just experienced a Full Moon at the same degree of Cancer as this one.

This T Square would be enough of a narrative to explain the Hamas Attack but the war that followed it was actually driven by the other one in this chart.

Venus in Leo is opposite Saturn and projects onto an apex 8th house Uranus, which accounts for the prolonged and shocking death and devastation experienced by the Palestinian people as a result of the Israeli response to this attack.

And this is because that apex Uranus sits right on the Israel Sun.

Since a Uranus cycle is 84 years and Israel had only been in existence for 75 of them, this is the first time this transit has happened.

Note also that Venus in the Hamas attack chart is a mere 1/3 of a degree from the Israel Mars.

In support of the genocidal narrative we could say that any country with an 8th house Sun in quincunx aspect to it’s Ascendant and the Moon in Leo conjunct Pluto is likely to respond to such an attack in an extremely heavy handed and brutal fashion.

And it has happened before, precisely 50 years earlier with the Yom Kippur War bring triggered by Uranus being at 23 Libra, right on the Israel Ascendant.

Astrologers who are inclined to use Chiron would presumably point to it’s opposition with the Israel Sun and suggest that some people were about to get seriously wounded.

The Palestine Sun is closely conjunct the Israel Chrion, but more to the point is exactly ( less than a degree) opposite the Israel Sun.

And transit Uranus was therefore opposite the Palestine Sun when this all started.

Fast forward to now, Uranus has stationed at 23 Taurus and from the beginning of March onwards, starts to slowly move away for the last time from it’s conjunction with the Israel Sun and opposition with the Palestine Sun.

Given that Uranus has still to get past the square to the Israel Mars and transit Pluto is about to oppose it’s Moon over the next two years, you can’t imagine Israeli instigated conflict in the region coming to an end, but I feel there is reasonable hope for this ceasefire holding.

Similar conditions might also apply in another theatre of war.

The Ukraine chart has a powerful T square of its own with the Moon at 23 Aquarius opposite a Mercury/Jupiter/Venus conjunction in Leo in its 7th house of powerful enemies which focuses onto an apex Pluto.

It is pretty clear who the enemy is.

With Venus at 22.53 Scorpio exactly (1 minute) square to the Ukraine Moon and that Venus packing a Pluto punch, it is inevitable that these two countries would spend much of their history at war with each other.

As the Russian Venus/Pluto is in its 4th house, it’s very likely that it considers Ukraine to be its own anyway.

So with Uranus making its final transit to the Ukraine Moon (square) and Russian Venus (opposition), its possible that we might see some kind of Trump enabled ceasefire there as well.

But with Pluto about to conjunct the Ukraine Ascendant, you couldn’t really see it working on their terms.

The Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has the Sun at 4 Aquarius, exactly conjunct the Russian Saturn, so he has always been a thorn in Vladimir Putin’s side.

As Pluto comes for this degree over the next couple of years, we can expect the end of his leadership, probably as part of a condition for a peaceful settlement.

So while Pluto in the early degrees of Aquarius certainly has a major role to play with both of these conflicts and probably with China too, we can’t pick and choose which things suit our new age narrative.

It’s coming opposition with the Israel Moon, and its conjunctions with the Ukraine Ascendant and China Moon and Ascendant are hardly looking to promote a democratic peaceful new world order.

But at least for now, the end of the Uranus transit gives hope for the Gaza ceasefire holding.

But since Uranus is conjunct Donald Trump’s 10th house Sun and is currently transiting his Midheaven you can be sure he will claim all the credit for that as well.
