It never ceases to amaze me how many people approach a subject as vast and all encompassing as astrology in an infantile and tiny pea-brained manner.
I am reminded of this fact every time the name Nostradamus comes up.
These people are convinced that a man that died 400 years before the event predicted the assassination of John F Kennedy.
No he didn’t, he could not possibly have done that any more than he could have predicted the weather in Dallas, the FTSE index or what Lee Harvey Oswald had eaten for breakfast on the 22nd November 1963.
And apart from anything else, the two planets responsible for JFK’s Presidency and Assassination, Uranus and Pluto, weren’t discovered for centuries after Nostradamus’ death.
Astrology does not work like this. There is not some kind of immutable fate, written in the stars.
And if it did, how is it that Nostradamus could know about all these things happening millenias after his death when the average astrologer these days has trouble locating their own arse from their elbow?
It is profoundly dumb to make predictions more than four years ahead never mind four hundred.
Because of “events, dear boy, events”, the famous quote from Harold Macmillan the UK Prime Minister who was himself forced to resign a month before Kennedy’s death.
No doubt there is some fool who would say that Nostradamus predicted that as well.
Astrology is a science like any other and has to be used in connection with what we see happening at the time.
If you choose to make a prediction and it turns out to be wrong, you have to look at it and revise your view of what happens next because that event will affect the future.
The transits will be the same, but how they play out will be affected by what has just happened.
This last week has been a pivotal one for world politics.
Donald Trump’s victory has forced many astrologers to reassess their view on Pluto’s move into the early degrees of Aquarius.
Rightly so. Like any scientist, we should always be adjusting our understanding of the heavens to take into account what is happening on Earth.
Ever since he was dumped out of the White House in 2021, I have feared that Jupiter and Uranus would drag Trump back there in 2025.
The last few months with Kamala Harris on the ticket, I believed we might just be able to escape that fate, but that hasn’t happened.
So I’ve had two possible scenarios rolling around in my mind for global affairs over the coming year – one with Trump and one without.
Whatever we think about the US election process, the real winner is always the candidate who puts in the most money and effort into winning it.
Given how much antipathy there was between Kennedy and Soviet leader Khrushchev, it is rather bizarre to see Trump lauding his mate Vladimir Putin.
But I suppose the Cuba missile crisis was an attempt by the Russians to influence the 1964 US election so not much has really changed in the last 60 years.
The birthdate given by Putin is, like most things that he puts out, deliberately wrong and misleading.
He is actually two years older, my reasoning for using the above chart is here – Have We Putin The Wrong Year?
Most readers will recognise the tight Moon/Pluto/Midheaven conjunction in Leo rather than the Moon in Gemini one of 1952.
Whichever year we use, Putin’s Sun is conjunct Trump’s Jupiter and he is smart enough to recognise that opportunity.
However Putin’s Sun (13.22 Libra) is exactly square to the USA Sun (13.19 Cancer.
It is also exactly conjunct the US Saturn, so whatever the maggots believe Vlad The Impaler is definitely not looking to make America great again.
Neither is his country.
The US Sun is exactly opposite Russia’s Uranus (13.18 Capricorn).
Russia’s Sun (3.24 Capricorn) is exactly opposite the US Venus (3.06 Cancer), so this is no love affair.
Note that Putin’s chart has the Moon at 17 Leo conjunct Pluto at 19.
Russia has Pluto at 21 Scorpio and Venus at 22 Scorpio.
And a little problem with their neighbours.
In Choose Your Partner For The Venus/Pluto Ukraine Border Dance, before the current conflict began I wrote
“With Aquarius Moon and Ascendant, the Ukraine has always looked towards becoming a democratic state or at least the appearance of one.
This Moon is conjunct the US Moon so it’s likely that the country would look for and be given American support in its quest.
The 7th house in Mundane charts is not the same as in a natal chart for the simple reason that countries don’t get married.
In fact the 7th in the chart of a nation has always indicated its open enemies.
In the Russia chart the 7th cusp is 21 Aquarius. You could say that democracy is the perceived enemy.
The Ukraine Moon is right on the Russia 7th.
In fact the Ukraine Moon is exactly, to the minute of arc, square to the Russian Venus.
This Moon being opposite a Mercury / Venus / Jupiter conjunction in Leo points to a very powerful opponent that resents the country’s move towards democracy. And this opposition focuses on an apex Pluto.”
So clearly we have a very explosive area of the Zodiac between 17.45 of Fixed signs and 0.59 of the following Mutable ones.
This contains the Ukraine apex Pluto, its Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Sun.
It also includes the Russian Ascendant, Venus and Pluto with Putin’s Moon and Pluto as well as the USA Moon.
The epicentre of this astrological maelstrom would be the square aspect between the Ukraine Moon at 22.54 Aquarius and the Russian Venus at 22.53 Scorpio.
The Venus/Pluto combo was present at the very moment of the Russian invasion.
Venus was conjunct Mars and Pluto on the Ascendant in Kiev at the time.
But the chief cause of all this was Saturn, which at 18 Aquarius had entered the fray.
The hope was that the war would be over after Saturn passed into Pisces in 2023, but Uranus put paid to that.
In May 2023, Uranus moved into this range by forming a Grand Cross with the Ukraine T square.
On the 10th of September, Uranus was at 27.13 Taurus, exactly square to the US Aquarius Moon. This was the day of the US Presidential debate and it looked for all the world like “Haitians eating the dogs” would usher in a new era.
But that very week, Uranus (and the United States with it) started to go backwards.
It is now at 25.30 Taurus, heading back towards the maelstrom again. It stops right in the middle of it at 23 Taurus at the time of Trump’s inauguration.
I do feel that the conflict will come to an end, once the Uranus transit through these areas is over, but I can’t see Ukraine coming out of it at all well.
Uranus reaches a square to the Ukraine Sun by July 2025 and I would imagine Trump’s refusal to back the country against his mate Putin will have become clear by then.
This transit lasts for another year but it also coincides with something else.
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has the Sun at 4.33 Aquarius.
Pluto is about to hit that over the next couple of years.
I would expect him to step down during that time, and I would imagine this to be part of the negotiations to end the war.
It’s likely that it will be one of Putin’s demands that will be put possibly as early as March/ April this year as Pluto comes as far as 3.49 Aquarius.
It may not actually happen until 2026, when it comes back to cross Zelensky’s Sun, but you can be sure it will.
Just as sure as some idiot saying Nostradamus predicted it and digging out some obscure reference to a jester taking the role of the king for a while only to go back to playing the fool again.
And that bit could just as easily refer to Donald Trump himself, so even Nostradamus can get it wrong once in a while.
