A Grimm Tale For The Full Moon

Over the years I have come to accept that I don’t write astrology articles, they write me.

What happens is that all kinds of apparently unrelated thoughts and impressions flood my brain until I realise that I am being moved in a direction that insists on me finding the connection and won’t allow me to rest until I’ve written them down.

Since I am fully immersed in the horary experience which quite clearly states that thoughts belong to the time in which they arise and are symbolic of the planetary placings at the time, I have no problem with this.

Most people believe that all their thoughts have a linear direction, one logically leading to another.

This belief is illusory. The reason people hold it is because they’ve never really taken the time out to observe their thoughts in any kind of detached fashion.

If they had they would realise that the most important thoughts are not linear at all and jump in from other dimensions when they are required.

This morning I was reflecting on the recent spat between petrol head misogynist trafficker Andrew Tate and Aspergers would be planet saviour Greta Thunberg.

I was wondering whether to write a piece on how these two enscapulate the essential difference between two consecutive signs as they have both Sun and Moon in Sagittarius and Capricorn respectively.

I was toying with a title like the Story of Handel and Greta, as in the famous children’s story when for some reason I believed that the charts of the writers the Brothers Grimm might serve as some kind of vague symbolic link.

I don’t remember seeing these charts before but as soon as I did I realised they required an article all to themselves.

Wilhelm Grimm had the Sun conjunct Venus in Pisces in the 5th house, with the Sun ruler Neptune conjunct his Ascendant being the perfect symbolism for a conjuror of fairy tales.

He also had a Capricorn Moon in the 3rd house indicating a very serious nature and a powerful focus on writing.

The Moon being part of an extremely tight Cardinal Grand Cross would maybe point to the workaholic tendency and also perhaps to the dark themes that often ran through these tales.

Many of their early works began as very frightening although they were softened and made more acceptable as children’s stories later.

The most famous of the Grimm Tales, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood contained sinister figures, often old ladies in the form of witches and stepmothers ( Moon in Capricorn – Grand Cross ) who would prey on the innocent children ( Sun / Venus in Pisces in the 5th house ).

But the truly gobsmacking thing is the synastry between the two brothers.

” The whole of the lives of the two brothers was passed together. In their school days, they had one bed and one table in common. As students, they had two beds and two tables in the same room. They always lived under one roof, and had their books and property in common. “

Looking at Wilhelm’s elder brother Jacob’s chart, you can see why.

Jacob Grimm had the Sun at 15 Capricorn a mere two degrees from Wilhelm’s Moon.

Jacob had an extremely tight opposition to Uranus – 17 minutes compared to the 13 of Wilhelm’s.

And the square to Neptune is half a degree compared to Wilhelm’s one degree.

The Brothers Grimm had their Mars in exact opposition ( only a degree apart ).

Jacob’s Jupiter is exactly conjunct Wilhelm’s Sun.

Jacob’s Venus and North Node is closely conjunct Wilhelm’s Mercury.

Wilhelm’s North Node is closely conjunct Jacob’s Mercury.

This brotherly synastry is about as close as you can get.

Fittingly for the writers of the most famous fairy tales in the world, Neptune is an extremely important planet.

Neptune is Wilhelm’s Sun ruler and is rising as part of the Grand Cross.

It is also the apex of Jacob’s T square.

Grimm’s Fairy Tales was first published in 1812 when Neptune was conjunct Jacob’s Mars and opposite Wilhelm’s Mars.

The Brothers Grimm are celebrated throughout the world but were very poor through much of their lifetime.

The one person who did make serious money out of them did so by turning their stories into animated films.

Walt Disney had the Sun at 12 Sagittarius, closely conjunct Jacob’s Mars and opposite Wilhelm’s Mars.

It is Disney’s Sun’s conjunction with Uranus and the opposition with Pluto that allowed him to be such a pioneer in the world of film animation.

He also has a very close Jupiter / Saturn conjunction right on the Brothers Grimm Capricorn Sun and Moon.

Disney was an interesting character. He was supposedly a very private and introverted individual who compensated by being deliberately extrovert when in company.

Many people have accused him of having right wing and even racist views.

With a Sagittarius / Capricorn combination, maybe Walt Disney was a synthesis of Andrew Tate and Greta Thunberg.

There you see. I knew I could bring this piece back to its starting place in the end.
