Bach Again? Return Of The Kings Of Bollywood

What we see is what we are.

This simple statement has always been true but has been endorsed by recent breakthroughs in quantum physics as well as what might be termed eastern religious philosophy.

We see things as a reflection of what is happening in our own minds, but also what we see reinforces our view of the world, even if it is delusional.

If we analyse our Netflix preferences, it has a particularly Scorpio/8th house flavour as we all seem to be obsessed with sex, death and detective shows.

In the last few months, my own evening viewing has undergone radical change, I have become hooked on romantic dramas frequently punctuated by joyful song and dance numbers.

But as my own life has taken on this flavour since meeting my soulmate and moving to Australia, it’s just taken a bit longer for what I watch to catch up with who I now am.

I now share this obsession with over 3 billion people and I’m pretty sure that most of them would recognise one man as their king.

Shah Rukh Khan has been called the “world’s greatest movie star” having appeared in over 100 films over 30 years in The Hindi Cinema widely known as Bollywood.

Shah Rukh seems to be widely loved by everyone and his “philanthropic endeavours have provided health care and disaster relief, and he was honoured for his support of children’s education and for advocating for women’s and children’s rights in India”.

In 2023, Time magazine named Khan as one of the most influential people in the world.

Shah Rukh Khan has certain placements in common with another god, Argentinian footballer Diego Maradona.

They both have Sun and Ascendant Scorpio, Venus in Sagittarius with the Sun in a Water Grand Trine.

Khan is the “King of Romance” with the Sun right on the Ascendant, and a Venus/Mars conjunction in Sagittarius in the 2nd house opposite Jupiter, he is pursuing a Scorpio dream with a net worth of over half a billion dollars.

Khan’s first starring role was in Lekh Tandon’s television series Dil Dariya, which began shooting in 1988 occurred with transit Pluto conjunct his Sun.

Khan’s Sun is square to a 4th house Moon and he lost both his parents before the age of 30.

At first he did not wish to act in films, but “changed his decision in April 1991, citing it as a way to escape the grief of his mother’s death.  He moved from Delhi to Mumbai to pursue a full-time career in Bollywood and was quickly signed to four films.

This coincided with transit Pluto square his Moon.

I have been meaning to write an article on Shah Rukh Khan for a while but couldn’t settle on a theme.

I was thinking of doing a synastry one with his leading ladies, the closest connections seem to be with Kajol (rising Moon at 9 Pisces exactly trine his Sun and Ascendant at 4 Pisces closely trine his).

Otherwise there is Aishwarya Rai with Sun at 8.39 Scorpio in the 10th house and Deepika Padukone with Moon/Mars/Pluto conjunction in Scorpio in the 8th all conjunct his Sun.

But recently I can across an article claiming that Shah Rukh Khan was the reincarnation of a Bengali dancer, Sadhana Bose.

My first thought was to dismiss this claim on the basis that she died in 1973, eight years after Khan was born.

However, I have come across views on reincarnation that allow the possibility of a soul inhabiting two different bodies at the same time, so decided not to rule it out but to check this claim through my own methods.

My studies in this area have revealed that it’s Secondary progressions and regressions that can give us the best information about past life connections.

Looking at Khan’s chart, it would seem that the aspect pattern that would most fit in with any themes being carried over from a previous life would be his 4th house Moon in Aquarius quincunx the Uranus/Pluto conjunction and square his Neptune.

Sadhana died on Oct 3rd 1973.

On that date, Shahrukh’s progressed Sun had reached 17 Scorpio, square to his natal Moon and sextile Uranus and Pluto.

This would be the only major aspect his progressed Sun could make to these three in his life.

Sadhana Bose was born on Apr 20th 1914.

If we take Shahrukh’s chart back to that date, his regressed Sun would at 18 Virgo, exactly conjunct his Uranus/Pluto and quincunx his natal Moon.

It goes without saying that this would be the first time that his regressed Sun would have made an aspect to any of these three planets.

I don’t have a birthtime for Sadhana Bose, but her progressed Sun was trine her Jupiter when Shahrukh was born.

So Sadhana’s birth and death are powerfully indicated in Shahrukh’s current chart and his birth is equally so in her chart.

There is only one man who could ever have challenged his King Khan status, and he was certainly the main Bollywood star before Shahrukh emerged.

As heartthrob charts go, it’s difficult to imagine a more compelling chart than Amitabh Bachchan’s six planet stellium in Libra, particularly when it includes a Sun/Venus/Mars conjunction.

It’s also interesting that both Amitabh and Shahrukh have Venus/Mars conjunctions in the 2nd house and both have obviously made massive fortunes from their romantic lead film star status.

When searching Amitabh Bachchan, you don’t get far before coming across rumours of a love affair with his leading lady.

When you look at the synastry, these rumours are hardly surprising.

Both Amitabh and Rekha have their Sun at 16 Libra in the 2nd house.

Amitabh and Rekha first starred together in the film Do Anjaane in 1976 when transit Pluto was at 13 Libra.

The rumours of their affair took off when transit Pluto was conjunct both of their Suns.

“Rekha’s alleged love affair speculation with Amitabh Bachchan culminated when they starred together in Yash Chopra’s romantic drama Silsila.  It was the most scandalous of their films together as it reflected the rumours by the press: Rekha played Bachchan’s lover, while Bachchan’s real-life wife Jaya Bachchan played his wife. The film was filmed secretly during 1980–1981, with Chopra not allowing the media to visit the shooting. Silsila was regarded by many journalists as “a casting coup” and this was the last collaboration between Rekha and Bachchan.”

In 1991, Pluto had reached 22 Libra, opposite Rekha’s Mars.

Amitabh’s wife Jaya has a powerful Sun/Moon conjunction in Aries exactly opposite both Amitabh and Rekha’s Libran Suns.

Her lights are trine a Mars/Saturn/Pluto conjunction, so Jaya would be no pushover.

Jaya and Amitabh first starred together and married in 1973 with transit Uranus conjunct his Sun and opposite hers.

While both Amitabh and Jaya have beneficial aspects to their Venus and Mars, Rekha’s pair are seriously challenged.

Her Venus in Scorpio is exactly square to Pluto.

Her Mars in Capricorn forms a T square with Jupiter/Uranus and an apex Neptune.

Her one marriage ended in tragedy.

“In 1990, Rekha married Delhi-based industrialist Mukesh Aggarwal. Aggarwal was a self-made entrepreneur and owner of the kitchenware brand Hotline. He is believed to have had a long-standing struggle with depression and according to Rekha’s biographers, she only found out about his mental health after marriage. He was introduced to Rekha through a mutual friend and fashion designer Bina Ramani who termed him Rekha’s ‘crazy fan’. Their marriage took place on 4 March 1990, and a few months later—while she was in London—he died by suicide, after several previous attempts, leaving a note, “Don’t blame anyone”.

In 1990, Transit Saturn was conjunct Rekha’s Mars, exact to within 1/3 degree on the day of their wedding.

The same person who proposed Sadhana Bose as a past life of Shah Rukh Khan also suggested these three were part of a group reincarnation in the US in the 19th century.

Amitabh is supposedly a reincarnation of Edwin Booth, who was a famous actor of his day, but was equally known for saving the life of Abraham Lincoln’s son Robert, ironically only a few months before his own brother, John Wilkes Booth assassinated the President.

If we regress Amitabh’s chart back to June 7th 1893 when Edwin Booth died, we can see a strong connection.

Amitabh’s regressed Sun is conjunct his Ascendant.

His regressed Venus is also conjunct his Pluto.

If we regress his chart back another 60 years to Booth’s date of birth.

Amitabh’s regressed Moon is conjunct it’s own current natal position.

His regressed Mars is conjunct his Pluto.

Edwin Booth’s chart has (like Amitabh’s) a Sun/Mars conjunction.

Booth has Venus at 24 Libra (conjunct Amitabh’s Moon) and in a T square including Jupiter and an apex Neptune.

If we progress Booth’s chart to the date of Amitabh’s birth his progressed Sun and Venus would be trine his own Mars.

The claim is that Edwin Booth’s first wife, Mary Devlin was Rekha in a past life.

Mary Devlin married Booth in July 1860 but died less than three years later.

If we regress Rekha’s chart back to this period, it marks the last time her regressed Sun aspected hers and Amitabh’s current Suns (15-17 Cancer-Libra)

Rekha’s regressed Moon was also conjunct her Libra Sun when Devlin and Booth married.

Jaya Bachchan was said to be Edwin Booth’s 2nd wife, Mary McVicker.

If we regress Jaya’s chart back to the date of the Booth/McVicker wedding.

Jaya’s regressed Venus is square to her current Venus.

Her regressed Mars is also square to her current Venus.

Mary McVicker died in November 1881.

Jaya’s regressed Sun was then forming an opposition with her Pluto.

If we were looking at Jaya/Mary McVicker as one life it would be clear that the strongest progressions indicating marriage to Amitabh would have occurred in 1869, more so even than those for 1973 when she actually did become a Bachchan.

Equally Rekha’s best chance of marrying him would have come from her progressions in 1860.

The reason why Rekha and Amitabh could not be together in this life was her T square – Mars opposite Jupiter square apex Neptune.

Mary Devlin had one as well, it was Venus opposite Jupiter square apex Neptune. Mary’s apex Neptune was in the 8th house and was the reason she died at the age of 22, having been married for less than three years.

So if we were looking at these examples of two lives as one, we would be nodding sagely and saying yes they were soulmates and that’s when they married.

Many scientists would dismiss astrology and religion as a desperate search to find meaning in the chaos of the Universe, that we try and find order out there that both reflects and supports our tiny, insignificant sense of our individual selves.

We see what we want rather than the truth.

But we could equally turn that round to say that the same scientists are looking for examples of disconnected chaos, and they simply find what they are looking for.

All of the connections shown in this article cannot be taken as proof of anything, but they are interesting nonetheless.

Maybe the notion that we are all completely separate individual entities that have no continuity beyond our death is a projection that stops us seeing how things actually are.

What we see is limited by our own conception of what we are, but maybe we could say the same for what we don’t see.
