These words from Psalm 23 verse 4 were used by Sunday schools to scare my generation into a lifetime of submission to their God. I didn’t quite work with me.

My 8 year old take on it was ” I’m gonna need that rod and staff to fight off all the demons.”

Little did I know that 60 years later I would still be using them to similarly despatch all binary views of the Universe.

Saturn’s rod and staff are tools for a lifetime.

The valley of the shadow of death is probably Scorpio but since I don’t want to wait another 20 years to use this analogy, Pisces will do nicely.

And no sooner had Saturn entered Pisces, it went all Obi Wan Kenobe, rod and staff flying everywhere.

Clearly a chart’s valley would be at the IC, so the Moon in Pisces in the 4th house would be the Silicon Valley Bank’s Achilles heel, particularly given that its part of a T Square including Venus and Mars in Virgo in the 10th and Uranus and Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 1st.

So while the rest of the world were totally shocked by the sudden radar disappearance of the SVB, Capricorn Research was only surprised that it came a month or two ahead of schedule.

But then I realised there’s another planet that’s been through its own shadow of banking death.

Pluto is about to leave Capricorn. It’s first act in the sign was to trigger the banking crisis with Washington Mutual and Lehrmanns

It’s last act was SVB.

So with Saturn in the first minutes of Pisces and Pluto hanging on in the last ones of Capricorn what better time than this week ?

Pluto plays an important role in the SVB chart as its conjunct the Sun.

So the Pluto transit square to this conjunction was just coming to and end when the bank collapsed.

SVB was put out of its misery last Friday morning.

The Moon was exactly conjunct the bank’s Sun and Venus opposed it.

For Saturn the real demons are the over confident ones. If they are all mouth and no trousers Saturn will shove its rod straight down their throat.

You might be a fancy tech – focused Californian bank but if your PR is not matched by your actual assets you get stiffed by its staff.

And 8 year old me knew the best way to attack unsuspecting demons.

Hit them hard and early so they learn their lessons quicker.
