A few hundred years ago, everyone believed in astrology. In fact it wasn’t a belief it was a simple lived experience.
These days most people don’t – because they’ve got far more important things to occupy their heads with, like incessantly arguing on social media about their favourite politician / sports star having a bigger dick than someone’s else’s.
And they don’t have time to study it anyway because they have to watch every single detective series on Netflix.
People didn’t have these important distractions back then so instead they were forced look up at the night sky in wonder.
They were also freer to lead their own lives to the full, experiencing everything intensely, which meant that they were caricatures of their own charts.
Take Henry 8th as an example.
He had the Sun in Cancer opposite Uranus in Capricorn in the 5th house. So he couldn’t have a son and heir. What did he do about it?
Did he try a couple of rounds of IVF and then give up and get a cat to sit on his lap while watching Shetland on TV like any normal person?
No, he got rid of the religious authority of the whole country, just to find someone that would let him marry someone else, guaranteeing himself to be sent to hell for eternity.
And when that didn’t work?
He accessed his Moon in Aries in the 8th house and chopped his wives’ heads off. See The Six Wives Of Henry V111
This is the kind of thing that happened in those days.
Take someone with a Sagittarius Moon.
They didn’t just prop up some bar boring everyone to death with their tales of a drunken holiday in Ibitha, they would try and be the first the first man to circumnavigate the globe.
Portuguese explorer, Ferdinand Magellan had a stellium in Sagittarius including the Moon and Mars.
He also had a tight T square with an apex Jupiter.
We don’t have a birthtime for Magellan but I could imagine him being born in the 2nd half of the day so that Moon would form a Grand Cross, opposing Jupiter.
Because as anyone who has a Grand Cross involving Pluto (and Saturn, just about) would tell you, they don’t get everything their own way.
At the end of the 15th century, Portugal and Spain had divided between them rulership and entitlement to the rest of the world, the Portuguese claiming the eastern half and the Spanish took the west.
Magellan proposed an expedition to the spice islands not by the usual route around South Africa, but beneath South America. He was turned down by the King of Portugal so hawked his endeavour to Spain.
He was accused of treachery by his countrymen, and they even chased him out of the harbour at the start of his voyage.
We obviously don’t have a time for this iconic journey to start but sunrise seems to be a fair bet.
Note the tight Mercury/Mars/Jupiter conjunction.
The totally stunning thing is that Uranus is exactly conjunct Magellan’s Sun.
Looking at the noon chart for Magellan, it seems likely that Venus in Aries in the 8th house exactly opposite to Pluto would indicate a death in combat.
That is exactly what happened.
The man who is famous for being the first to circumnavigate the globe, didn’t actually complete the voyage. He was killed in a battle in the Philippines, ironically on his 41st birthday.
Astrologically, the Sun was at the centre of a T square so both Mars and Saturn were square to his Sun on the day.
Note also that Uranus had come to the exact minute of opposition to the Venus of the Voyage launch chart, bringing the threatened death to occur then.
So Ferdinand Magellan didn’t actually circumnavigate the globe, the first person to do that was Juan Sebastian Elcano who took command with only 20 other survivors, less than a tenth of the original crew.
There is no birthdate for Elcano, but as no-one knows who he is or what he was famous for we can safely assume that he didn’t have the Moon in Sagittarius.
