A Cockell Crows At The Start Of A New Life

If there’s one sign that more than any other resonates with the past it is Cancer.

Home, family, ancestry and small communities with their traditions and boundaries all come under its rulership.

Cancerians operate through feeling and instinct, they may have a connection with the collective unconscious that comes from their own deceased relatives.

So for someone who is known for her memories of her own previous lives, its not such a surprise that she should have a stellium in the sign, particularly one including both Sun and Moon.

Jenny Cockell’s memories also had a distinctly Cancerian flavour, “of having lived as an Irish mother of eight children named Mary, seemingly between the 1890s and the 1930s. She recalled the family’s cottage in a rural hamlet and the locality where she often walked, the appearance and personalities of most of the children, and routine activities such as cooking and going to church. A dominant memory was of Mary’s death in a place away from home. Mary died young, and throughout Cockell’s childhood she felt a strong sense of guilt at having abandoned the children.”

It’s obvious that Jenny Cockell’s chart is referring to Mary’s life even with the close Sun/Uranus conjunction and the square to Saturn and Neptune indicating her guilt associated with her own death.

” Cockell also remembered having been a young girl in nineteenth century Japan. This, she felt, had been a pleasant life as a member of an affluent family whose home had a veranda overlooking the sea. The life ended when she drowned aged seventeen, having fallen off a ferry on her way to marry the older man her father had chosen for her. Here too she retained feelings of guilt, worrying that she might have embraced death to escape the marriage, letting her father down.”

The drowning, the marriage arranged by her father, the older man and the feelings of guilt all fit so well with the Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Libra.

My recently discovered technique of secondary regressions could place this one in terms of timing. It is tempting to suggest that this death happened when Cockell’s regressed Sun reached the opposition to these two, which would have been in the mid 1860s.

But it may be that this method is most suited to describing the circumstances of our last life.

Jenny Cockell’s last one was as Charles Savage. “In childhood, she experienced a recurring dream of dying in an accident, run over by a milk float at six years old. She felt that she had been a boy, but she did not know his name. As an adult, in one of her regression sessions, she seemed to relive this death, but as a result of illness. She recalled the name Charles S and had a sense of where and when he had lived, which allowed her to track down his death certificate.

The death certificate showed that Charles’s full surname was Savage and that he had died in 1945, so he had lived after Mary Sutton. Interestingly, the death certificate listed the cause of death as from ‘injuries accidently sustained as a result of being run over by a motor lorry’, consistent with her childhood dream.”

If we regress Jenny’s chart back to 1945 her Sun would be exactly conjunct her Moon.

And you can’t get much more Mars conjunct Uranus in Cancer than being run over by a milk float.
