One of the problems with writing astrology articles is that every single one of them triggers multiple possibilities for others.

My last article Did Harry Really Meet Sally explored the possibility of King Charles being a reincarnation of Henry V.

On researching it, all kinds of other ideas floated to the surface, but which (if any) of them to follow?

My way with all of this is to allow the themes to run and go with the ones that seem strongest, that are most insistent. I often start writing a piece with no clear view where it will go.

This is a remarkably in Capricorn way of doing things, but over the years I have learnt to trust it more and more.

And this is where I’m at with this one. All I knew was I had to write something about King Charles, so let’s just see where it goes.

Because we are operating in the dimension of symbolic resonance any one person’s chart can have links with many other apparently disconnected ones.

This is an expression of synchronicity, a concept used “to describe events that coincide in time and appear meaningfully related, yet lack a discoverable causal connection”

This idea was introduced by the analytical psychiatrist Carl Jung.

The name Charles comes from the German Carl or Karl.

Charles was strongly influenced by Jung’s work, particularly in his younger days through his friendship with Laurens Van der Post.

He even had regular sessions with Alan McGlashman, a Jungian psychotherapist during the 1990s.

The name Charles also means “free man”. But is this true? Is King Sally any freer than the rest of us?

Most people would say yes of course he is, the richest man in the UK, who owns half of Scotland in order to wander around shooting deer and talking to trees rather than having to do anything that might even remotely resemble actual work.

But when you understand astrology, it’s clear that he isn’t free at all, he’s a slave to a moment in time.

I have written a lot about Charles’ chart, but it’s always worth checking the basics.

Charles has a Scorpio Sun, it’s only aspect is the square to his Sun ruler, Pluto.

He also has a prominent T square, his Mercury in Scorpio in the 4th house is opposite his Moon in Taurus in the 10th, forming an apex with his Leo Ascendant.

He was also having sessions with McGlashman when transit Pluto was conjunct his Sun.

In fact all of the major events in Charles’ life have been triggered by Pluto transits.

In all this it’s important to recognise that Pluto moves very slowly. It takes on average 250 years to get round the Zodiac, so most people would only experience it travelling through 4 signs in a lifetime.

Its orbit is eccentric though and over the last century it has covered more distance, so people born in the 1930s have already experienced a Pluto Half Return (six signs). But it’s questionable whether Charles will.

Clearly the turning point of his life would have been Pluto’s conjunction by transit to his Sun in 1992, the “annus horribilis” when the news of his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles along with the “Tampongate” episode came out.

But he is now in the middle of a transit phase that would dwarf that one.

That 10th house Moon dominates Charles chart.

This is stunningly simple kindergarten astrology.

The Moon is the mother, the 10th house is the career.

Charles Moon is at 0.25 Taurus. The Queen’s Sun is 0.12 Taurus.

Charles’ mother dominates his life and stands in the way of his career goal, such that he wouldn’t even get a job until he was 74 years old.

You don’t need to be Carl Jung or even Sigmund Freud to see that.

When Charles did finally get to be crowned, Pluto had stationed at 0.22 Aquarius, exactly square to his Moon.

This was what he was born for and it would be understandable for Charles to think he had reached his zenith on May 6th 2023.

The problem with reaching the top is that there is only one to go from there and Pluto was only just getting started.

Any Pluto transit is going to last for about 2 years. Within that time it will go backwards and forwards over the same degree.

After the coronation, Pluto started to head backwards and within a month it had reversed into Capricorn, spending the rest of 2023 in that sign.

In late January 2024, it re-entered Aquarius and on February 4th, Charles announced to the world that he had cancer.

On Feb 4th, Pluto was at 0.27 Aquarius, again exactly square to his Moon for the second time.

So we can see that this transit wasn’t just about his becoming king.

Pluto continued to move forward until May before reversing once more and heading back for a final dip into Capricorn at the beginning of September.

Charles announced that his cancer treatment had worked sufficiently well to return to royal duties even including a trip to Australia in mid October.

This can happen, even with a Pluto transit, the point when it retrogrades back behind your placement can almost feel like things are returning back to previous conditions. But this is illusory, because there is the final pass to come.

Pluto heads back into Aquarius this month and by December 9th will be back square to Charles Moon again. So stand by for some other development.

By the start of 2025, Pluto will have moved to 1 Aquarius so this transit will be effectively over, but there is still much more to come.

A T square is a challenging aspect pattern. Having three placements all pulling in strongly different directions creates a lot of tension for the person to deal with.

These challenges are exacerbated by transiting planets, even favourable ones.

Because Jupiter might be at 0 Taurus conjunct Charles Moon as it was in May 2023 in the first couple of weeks of his reign, but fairly quickly it would go on to be square to his Ascendant at 5 Leo and opposite his Mercury at 6 Scorpio.

But the biggest possible challenges would be faced when a transiting planet is moving between 0 and 6 degrees of Aquarius, because it makes hard aspects to all three of the T square placements, forming a Grand Cross.

So Pluto will move on to oppose Charles’ Ascendant and square his Mercury, occurring between 2026 and 28.

To make matters worse, in 2028 Saturn joins in, conjunct his Moon, square his Ascendant, and opposite his Mercury.

Given his current state of health, this is alarming enough of itself.

Camilla has extremely powerful synastry with Charles.

His Sun is conjunct her Jupiter which goes without saying as we certainly would not have heard of her if she hadn’t been his mistress.

Her Sun is closely trine his.

One really intriguing thing about Camilla’s chart is her exact Moon/Venus conjunction at 10 Cancer in the secretive 12th house.

Princess Diana’s Sun was at 10 Cancer in the 7th house of marriage.

The odds of that extraordinary piece of synastry occurring by chance are over 100,000 to 1 against.

But the one connection with Charles that is of great importance now is the fact that at 4.53 Leo, Camilla’s Ascendant is a mere half a degree away from his.

So Pluto is coming to oppose them both.

Closely followed by Saturn coming to square them both.

Given that Camilla has a powerful Saturn/Pluto conjunction in the 1st house, it is very hard to imagine her still being Queen consort by the end of 2028.

The piece that set me thinking about this article examined the possibility that Charles was a reincarnation of Henry V.

Henry also had a T square involving his Moon, Mars and Uranus.

In Henry V’s day, Pluto was moving extremely slowly and could not form any aspect to his T square during his whole life.

But Saturn did, in August 1422 when he died, it was in his 10th house and square to his Moon.

However if we are looking for another symbolic royal connection with Charles, we don’t have to go back as far as the Middle Ages.

Charles holds the record for Princes of Wales, his 74 years corresponds to 2.5 Saturn cycles.

Before him the longest running was Edward V11 with a mere 59 years (or 2 Saturn cycles).

Charles mother Elizabeth also holds the record for longest ruler (70 years).

Edward’s mother, Victoria held it previously at 63.

Like Charles, Edward spent all those years mainly being known for illicit affairs.

Of course they are both Scorpios with Suns a mere 6 degrees apart.

Charles Sun is square Pluto, Edward’s was square Neptune.

They both had Venus in Libra (only 3 degrees apart) in aspect to the deceptive Neptune (Charles the conjunction, Edward the trine).

The difference between the two men was of quantity and quality. Charles has one extra marital with an old hag, Edward had a lot more of them with many of the most beautiful women of the time.

How do we account for the difference? That would again be down to Pluto.

I have always said that the tighter the aspect, the more dramatically and powerfully the planets’ energy will play out in the person’s life.

Edward’s Venus at 19.13 Libra is exactly opposite Pluto at 19.26 Aries. These two form a T square onto an apex Mars at 15.13 Capricorn.

“Edward had mistresses throughout his married life. He socialised with actress Lillie Langtry; Lady Randolph Churchill; Daisy Greville, Countess of Warwick; actress Sarah Bernhardt; noblewoman Lady Susan Vane-Tempest; singer Hortense Schneider; prostitute Giulia Beneni (known as “La Barucci”); wealthy humanitarian Agnes Keyser; and Alice Keppel. At least fifty-five liaisons are conjectured.”

Edward’s wife Alexandra was aware of his affairs, and unlike Charles’ wife Diana, seems to have accepted them.

Like her husband, Queen Alexandra had Venus, Pluto and Mars in a T Square.

In her case Venus had moved on into Scorpio but was conjunct Mars in Libra and both were opposite Pluto.

But as ever its the apex planet that is the dominant one.

Edward’s apex was Mars so he was the one doing the philandering. Alexandra’s apex was Saturn (granted this T Square is a bit wide) so she did the putting up with it.

Alexandra’s favourite mistress was his last one, Alice Keppel.

Keppel’s great-granddaughter was Camilla Parker Bowles, a fact that was part of the conversation when Charles first met her. Probably something along the lines of “my ancestor shagged yours, so how about it?”

I don’t have a birthtime for Alice but she was a Taurean who must also have had Scorpionic qualities as the Sun conjunct Pluto would testify.

Her Pluto was exactly opposite Edward’s Sun as well.

When writing about connections like this I often feel like an astrological Mrs Merton “tell me Edward, what was it attracted you to 27 years younger, Mars in Aries conjunct your Pluto, Alice Keppel?”

But coming back to the main point of this article, Edward had another T square.

This one, like Charles’ own, involved his Moon (29 Virgo) with an apex placement of his Ascendant (27 Sagittarius).

Pluto only made one transit to this pattern in his life, forming a Grand Cross exactly opposite the Ascendant in 1910 when Edward died.

Exactly the same transit as Charles has coming up.

Like her great granddaughter, Pluto also hit an important placement in Alice Keppel’s chart, being conjunct her Venus.

All of this is fascinating, but is it a true example of synchronicity or just a coincidence?

Perhaps we should consult a psychologist.

Carl Jung also has a T square, that fits exactly on Charles’ own.

His Sun at 3 Leo is within a couple of degrees of Charles’ Ascendant.

That Sun is opposite Jung’s own Ascendant and focuses by T square onto an apex Neptune at 3 Taurus, closely conjunct Charles’ Moon.

And since Pluto is just about to make it’s first ever conjunction with Jung’s Ascendant, maybe he will come back and we can ask him.

Jung was very keen on astrology so would probably tell us that Scorpios are adept at keeping their real feelings to themselves, but when Pluto transits their Sun the true person is forced out into the open.

When Charles had this transit the world discovered his dream of being reincarnated as Camilla’s tampon.

At this age, it’s extremely unlikely that she still uses them, so if these transits bring the suspected result, it looks like another life of doing nothing for him.

Maybe that’s what being a free man is really about.
