Maybe it’s because Adele has immortalised a period of loss and reevaluation with her songs and tattoos but many Muggles know about the Saturn Return nowadays.

This “troublesome time” occurs for us all just as we’re reaching 30 when the old curmudgeon comes into our home and demands that everyone prove their right to be there and show their plans for the next 30 years.

If social media is any kind of guide, most astro peeps spend their 20s terrified of the prospect and their 30s banging on about how it was actually all for the best.

Of course like anything else in astrology everything depends on exactly how it is placed in your own natal chart.

Most people talk about placements, but the true power in an astrological chart comes from planetary relationships, the patterns that they make between them.

Saturn on its own would not cause that much trouble on its Return, but if it was aspected to other more personal planets, it would take them with it.

Adele’s Saturn Return was such a life changing time because it fell on her Descendant conjunct her Moon and opposite her Venus.

But while a heavily aspected Saturn Return can cause a lot of heartache, it is not generally as destructive as a Uranus Half Return.

Particularly if you have nuclear capacity.

The two planets of change, Pluto and Uranus feature heavily in the chart of Iran, which you would expect from a country reborn in an Islamic Revolution.

But with these two heavyweights opposite the Sun and Moon respectively, you would understandably be concerned when either of them made the conjunction by transit, because this would unleash the threat of the natal aspect.

Fortunately Pluto won’t reach 10 degrees Aries for another 50 years, but Uranus made it to 28.33 Taurus this very week.

And since Uranus in the Iran chart is in Scorpio in the 12th house (underground nuclear facilities?) and the transit has now hit that Taurus Moon in the 6th house you have got to worry about the country’s current health.

Where might that threat come from?

Well Uranus is the ruler of the 3rd house and Iran has Venus there in opposition with Saturn. And when we are looking at the charts of countries rather than people, the 3rd house does not signify siblings, but neighbours.

The chart for Israel has the Sun at 23 Taurus.

Normally if the Moon of one partner is conjunct the Sun of another, you would think there is some kind of meant to be soulmate quality to the relationship.

But if one of those people has the Sun in the 8th house in square to Mars in Leo with the Moon in the same sign along with a Saturn/Pluto conjunction their soulmate is a genocidal maniac.

Particularly if that Mars is exactly square to their Moon.

In Uranus Hamas Away, I detailed the events of October 7th and the devastating war crimes unleashed by Israel on the Palestinian people in Gaza.

This occurred with transit Uranus conjunct the Israel Sun and opposite the Palestinian one.

Now Uranus is at 28 Taurus conjunct the Iran Moon and square the Israel Mars.

But Mars is in there as well, at 28 Leo, right on the Israel Mars and square the Iran Moon.

With Pluto also opposite the Israel Moon, unleashing the threat contained in the natal conjunction, we are now in a very serious situation.

It will certainly not be helped by another crazy Mars/Uranus figure being right in amongst these transits.

Donald Trump was assuming he could celebrate his own Mars Return by having a military parade and beating up Los Angeles.

Now as Mars is moving in on his Leo Ascendant he has to claim a piece of the action in Tehran as well, saying he knew about the Israeli attack all along despite the fact that US personnel were not withdrawn from the affected areas until the very last minute, suggesting that it was just as much of a Uranian shock to him as it was to anyone else who wasn’t following the astrology.

What will happen next?

Well with Uranus going backwards and forwards over these degrees over the next year and Pluto opposite the Israel Sun and Saturn conjunct the Iran Sun until the early part of 2027, we have to assume things are going to get worse before they get better.

And Adele?

She has Uranus conjunct her Descendant/Moon/Saturn and opposite her Venus so you would imagine her Uranus Half Return will cause a great deal more trouble than her Saturn one.

She will probably have to come out of retirement to write a song about it.

For the rest of us let’s hope it isn’t Skyfall.
