At the beginning of this decade I moved to the other side of the world and married my soulmate.
It’s coming up to the 5th anniversary of the exact moment my life was totally transformed. For the previous 6 months we had been discussing all things life and astrology on social media but a week before she revealed her true feelings despite having never even seen a picture of me.
The moment I walked through that portal of love, Jupiter was conjunct my Venus, the Moon and Neptune were conjunct my Mars and Saturn was conjunct my Sun.
Bizarrely Saturn was exactly on the Ascendant at the time.
What I hadn’t realised because I had been neglecting them for 30 years was that my progressed Venus was on my Ascendant opposite my Jupiter / Uranus in the 7th and square to my 9th house Neptune.
This moment had been built into my birthchart. It was the whole point of my life and why I was given this chart in the first place.
But what if I had missed it ?
I knew I felt the same about her but what if I’d been too scared to take that jump, to give up everything and take that step into the unknown.
Triple Capricorns are not exactly risk takers. They aren’t easily dislodged from their own mountain path, particularly not when Saturn is conjunct their Sun.
With a 12th house Sun and Moon, and a T Square apex Neptune I am not entirely typical of the sign.
I learnt a long time ago that it’s best to stay in the moment, but that was also with the assumption that each one would be broadly similar to the last.
Pluto had just been conjunct my Moon and I had lost my job, my home and my previous dysfunctional marriage during its transit.
This was the reason why all that had been swept away. To make way for a new life that was incomparable to the old one.
And when Pluto has taken everything away, you have to make that quantum jump into your new life.
Because one thing with Pluto, you can’t stay where you are and you certainly can’t go back.
If I’d missed that moment I would totally deserve to be reincarnated as the cockroach that many Sidereal astrologers assume I will be.
For me it was a no brainer. It was a sliding doors moment and I had to step off the train that was just going even deeper underground. But I’ve had friends and clients who’ve faced similar transits and decided to stick rather than twist.
If you google ” famous missed opportunities ” chances are the first story you will find is that of Ronald Wayne.
Ronald Who ? you might ask.
But its likely you will have heard of former Apple CEO and billionaire Steve Jobs.

Born less than two months later than me with the same Jupiter / Uranus conjunction square Neptune but with Venus and Mars turning it into a Grand Cross featuring financial and career houses, Steve Jobs used his Aries Moon and Pisces Sun to see what was needed and exploit it to the full.
With a 6th house Pisces Moon and Virgo rising he was a workaholic but these placements are always likely to come with an extra level of sensitivity to health issues.
Like me Jobs had two major Pluto transits to his Moon.
The second one ( the square ) was in 2011 and he died of complications linked with his pancreatic cancer.
The first one was the idea for Apple which came to him in 1974 – 75 when transit Pluto was opposite that Moon.
Both times he was ready to make a quantum jump.

The company was formed at the beginning of April 1976. This is a noon chart.
It is dominated by Mars at 6 Cancer as apex planet of the T Square involving a Sun / Pluto opposition and also the easy opposition point ( trine one end, sextile the other ) to a Moon / Jupiter / Uranus pattern.
This Mars is exactly square to Steve Jobs Moon and was the final trigger point of his Pluto / Moon opposition transit.
As Jobs’ Moon is in the 7th house, he had a partner.

Steve Wozniak had a Grand Trine in Water in material houses involving Mars, Jupiter and Uranus.
This was very favourable for him as his Jupiter was closely conjunct Jobs’ Pisces Sun.
They both had late Virgo rising.
Wozniak’s 10th house Moon and Venus was conjunct Jobs’ 10th house Jupiter and Uranus.
Wozniak had a tight Sun / Pluto conjunction in Leo, but his connection with Apple was more to do with his 10th house Uranus, which was transiting through his Grand Trine in 1975 – 76.
There was one other partner.
” In 1976, Ronald Wayne was well respected for his sophisticated and comprehensive internal corporate documentation systems at the three-year-old Atari. It was at Atari that he met coworkers Jobs and Wozniak. To assist in mediation of one of their typically intense discussions about the design of computers and the future of the industry, Wayne invited the pair to his home to facilitate and advise them. In the ensuing two-hour conversation about technology and business, Jobs proposed the founding of a computer company led by Wozniak and himself. The two would each hold a 45% stake so that Wayne could receive a 10% stake to act as a tie-breaker in their decisions. As the venture’s self-described “adult in the room” at age 41, Wayne drafted the original partnership agreement, and the three founded Apple Computer on April 1, 1976. Wayne created the first illustrations of the Apple logo (known as Apple Newton). He also wrote the Apple I Operations Manual.
Wayne’s attitude concerning business was already risk-averse following his experience five years prior with the “very traumatic” failure of his slot machine business, the debts from which he had spent one year repaying. Jobs secured a US$15,000 line of credit to purchase materials needed to fabricate Apple’s first order placed by The Byte Shop, a business with a reputation as a notoriously slow-paying vendor. This created great anxiety in Wayne concerning his personal financial exposure. Legally, all members of a partnership are personally responsible for any debts incurred by any partner; unlike Jobs and Wozniak, then 21 and 25, Wayne had already acquired a sizable amount of personal assets that potential creditors could possibly seize. Furthermore, his passion was in original product engineering and in slot machines, and not in the documentation systems Jobs and Wozniak expected him to manage, possibly indefinitely at Apple. Believing he was “standing in the shadow of giants” of product-design and eager to shield himself from financial exposure, he exited the company. “Twelve days after Wayne created the document that formally created Apple, he returned to the county registrar’s office filing an amendment formally withdrawing his name and involvement in the company”. Wayne was later paid US$800 in exchange for relinquishing his equity stake in the company. “
A 10% share in Apple now would be worth over $ 100 billion.
Why did Wayne back down and miss out ?

Ron Wayne had Venus in Aries in the 1st house conjunct Steve Jobs’ Moon.
It was opposing Jupiter in Libra in the 7th which pointed to the diplomatic role he played with Jobs and Wozniak but also to the potential for great gains through partnership.
However this opposition formed a T square with an apex Moon in Cancer in the 4th house in close square to Jobs’ own Moon.
The Apple T Square apex Mars falls exactly on Wayne’s Moon.
Wayne experienced a Pluto / Moon transit ( a square ) in 1974 – 75 at the same time as Jobs did ( opposition ) when they met.
But their responses to this brave new Apple world were very different.
Steve Jobs with the Moon in Aries would be full steam ahead.
Ron Wayne with an apex Moon in Cancer in the 4th house would feel threatened and exposed and prefer to stay in his own comfort zone.
One would climb aboard the high speed express, the other would stay on the platform.
Ultimately who can say which is right. Each man followed his own Moon.
” Wayne has stated in the decades that followed, he does not regret selling his share of the company, as he made the “best decision based on the information available at the time”. He said he had truly believed that the Apple enterprise “would be successful, but at the same time there could be significant bumps along the way and I couldn’t risk it. I had already had a rather unfortunate business experience. I was getting too old and those two men were whirlwinds. It was like having a tiger by the tail. I couldn’t keep up with these guys.” Although Apple ended up at one point becoming the most valuable company in the world, he said that given the risks and stress of staying with Apple he “probably would have wound up the richest man in the cemetery.”
And while Steve Jobs second Pluto / Moon transit did just that, Ron Wayne is 89 and still alive and kicking.
