It’s very important for everyone to have an Aries festival. The beginning of the astrological New Year should be celebrated as far more significant than that dour 10th degree of Capricorn when its freezing cold and dark.
The Christian church understood the astrological significance of this time, that’s why they poached it for Easter.
And pretty soon we are being cajoled into remembering the ” true meaning of the season ” which is actually far more to do with bunnies and eggs than crucifying some hippie. For more on this see The True Date Of The First Easter
They did the same for Christmas as well, poaching Saturnalia, an essential time of feasting to celebrate the moment when the forces of light start to get a tiny bit stronger with the hope of good things to come.
Puritan types would insist people ” praise the Lord ” rather than give each other presents and get drunk, despite this being the whole point of the festival and the fact that he was actually born in September. See – Is This The Birthchart Of Jesus Christ ?
Having given up on Christianity by my first Saturn Half Return, I was not inclined to celebrate the start of Aries in this po faced manner. I found a much more appropriate ritual.
Like many middle aged men, I took up playing golf in my fifties. I used to celebrate the start of the season by taking a long weekend at a golf resort in Devon which had seven courses.
So I could play a round each morning, get back for lunch and sit down just in time to spend the rest of the day watching the Augusta Masters on TV.
The Masters is a classic Aries festival.
The very first one teed off with a Sun / Mars / Ascendant conjunction in that sign. See Jupiter And Pluto, Masters Of The Universe – The astrology Of The Green Jacket
And this year, it coincides perfectly.
So who will be crucified on Day Two and ascending to heaven on Sunday ?
The joint favourites at 8 / 1 are Scottie Scheffler and Rory Mcilroy.
The problem as ever is birth times.
Scheffler might have Saturn opposite his Moon.
McIlroy might have Pluto square his.
If the Masters had finished on Palm Sunday instead Rory would have taken all the praises with both a Venus and a Mars Return.
There is one top player that I do have a birthtime for

Jon Rahm has a powerful T square Moon in Aquarius opposite Mars in Leo apex Sun / Jupiter in the Midheaven in Scorpio.
Rahm was World No 1 for 60 weeks through 2021 as Jupiter went through his T square and Pluto across his Ascendant culminating in a US Open victory.
Last year with Saturn in the T Square he struggled but since its moved on Rahm’s form has improved.
Uranus will be opposite his Sun and square his Mars for the Masters, so this could be his moment. He is 10 / 1 for the tournament.
Colin Morikawa has an Aquarius stellium. He’s another one that won majors ( PGA and The Open )with Jupiter going through it.
Saturn also produced a dip for him but like Rahm, Morikawa has Uranus square his Sun for the Masters. He is at 26 / 1
Justin Thomas has Pluto opposite his Mars at 19 / 1.
Cameron Young came 2nd in the 2022 Open with Uranus conjunct his Sun and trine his Mars.
The planet returns to the same position for the Masters so he would be a good option at 29 / 1
The only golfer in the field who has transit Jupiter on his Sun is Russell Henley but at 150 / 1 it’s unlikely that he’ll win it.
Jason Day has Mars at 22 Libra so at 26 / 1 he is a prospect. He also has Uranus heading for opposition to his Sun and possibly Pluto somewhere near opposite his Moon.
The Masters has a field of about 100 golfers. Given that there are always going to be several with strong transits on the day.
You can’t win a Green Jacket on Day 1 but you can certainly lose one so my policy is to wait until the end of the first round and see how people are placed then make my choice based on the astrology.
Any of the above high on the leaderboard would be backed.
If I had to take a punt before it started I would suggest, Rahm, Thomas, Morikawa or Young.
But since Easter Sunday is a time of redemption, I’m also tempted to plump for a noon time for Rory McIlroy and with the coming eclipse falling right on his Moon, what better way to celebrate finally reaching the Grand Slam after all those humiliating failures ?
