Since catching Covid a couple of months ago, I have struggled to get back to my previous levels of fitness ( as in not fit, but ok for a 67 year old ). But worse than that is the long term brain fog.
There was a time when I had a photographic memory for astrological charts. That has long disappeared but at least I could remember whether I’d written an article on a subject or not.
Now it seems even that is fading. I felt certain that I’d published a piece on Vladimir Putin’s birth chart suggesting that we might be using the wrong one, but I can’t find any evidence of it.
If you google Putin’s chart you will come up with this one
I’ve always had some doubts about this chart.
If you focus on the Sun / Saturn conjunction and the Scorpio rising while allowing an 11 degree orb for a T Square with an apex Pluto on the Midheaven, you can conjure something that looks like the ruthless KGB agent who has held his country and the world under his influence for the last two decades, but this figure still doesn’t really resonate with a Libra / Gemini Sun / Moon combination.
It also does not resonate with the chart for Soviet Russia.
Another reason for my doubts has come up with the events of this year.
The only transit of any real significance is Saturn opposing his Pluto. This as regular readers will know is the case for anyone currently in their 70th year ( or even early 70s ).
It’s hardly the kind of thing that would explain completely why this individual is solely responsible for decimating his neighbour’s territory and holding the world to nuclear ransom.
The main reason that I use the Astrodatabank for birth charts is that it has a system for saying how reliable the data is.
As a general rule I would only work with charts that are classified as A. Vladimir Putin’s offering is a DD – unverified / conflicting.
Further examination suggests some different birth times, which might make some adjustments but would also likely lose the Scorpio rising and Pluto / Midheaven conjunction which I feel would take Putin further from the ogre that everyone apart from Donald Trump ( and his maggots ) know that he is.
At the end of the page however there is a reference to claims being made to Vladimir Putin being born in 1950 instead of 1952.
Further research reveals that this is due to someone called Vera Putina who has claimed to be Vladimir’s mother.
Our Vera says that he was born in Georgia in 1950 and she left him with her parents in St Petersburg as a child because she and her husband could not afford to look after their whole family.
The reason for the change of birth year was because young Vladimir, having begun his education in Georgia would have been behind his new classmates and was particularly weak on Russian.
As he was fairly small for his age, Putin’s grandparents were able to pass him off as two years younger and enrol him in a different age group.
So the time and day was the same, just the year and the place differed.
I dont know where in Georgia Vladimir was born but that would only make a few degrees difference on the Ascendant so I will use the capital Tbilisi for our purposes.
Its true we lose the Sun / Saturn conjunction but this is replaced with a Sun / Neptune one.
Saturn now closely conjoins Mercury.
But the big change is the fact that the Moon is now in dominant Leo, closely conjunct that Pluto and Midheaven.
I would imagine most readers could see Putin’s personality more clearly from this chart.
The tie ups with the Soviet chart are now extremely powerful.
Putin 1950’s Moon is right in the 1917 T Square, conjunct its Saturn and closely square to the Soviet Sun.
When someone’s Moon is conjunct Pluto this has a certain meaning in terms of sheer intensity of character but it also refers to a massive change in that person’s life which would be triggered when the transit Pluto forms a square aspect with the Moon.
And the Pluto transit of 1989 to the 1917 Sun which brought down the Berlin Wall and enforced The Dissolution Of The Soviet Union, was square to Vladimir Putin’s Leo Moon.
As Uranus is in square to Putin’s Sun in both charts, its transits would also mark important changes in his life.
In the year 2000 when he first became President of Russia, the transit Uranus would be opposite Putin 1950’s Moon / Pluto / Midheaven conjunction.
1950 chart also has powerful antagonistic synastry with the chart for the Ukraine in a way where the 1952 doesn’t really.
The Ukraine T square apex Pluto, which is the astrological reason why this country has been plagued with so much big neighbour agony is exactly square to Putin’s 1950 Moon.
The current conflict began with the Russian invasion of Ukraine at the end of February when Saturn was at 18 Aquarius opposite Putin 1950’s Moon / Pluto / Midheaven.
With Saturn currently retrograding back to this point the Ukranian forces are taking back some of the land from the invading forces.
And now with the war in Ukraine going very badly and Putin under a level of pressure that he would not have experienced before, coming out fighting with a greater level of enforced conscription and threats of going nuclear, not only is Saturn opposite his Moon / Pluto / Midheaven but Uranus is also square to that group, creating a double whammy.
So assuming that the 1950 chart is the correct one, what can we expect from Vladimir Putin ?
Saturn continues to retrograde through October so the Ukrainian forces may take some more territory back from the invaders.
But I feel that the upcoming eclipse of November 8th is very scary falling as it does at 16 Scorpio / Taurus exactly conjunct Uranus and all of it is very closely square to Putin’s Moon.
If we all manage to survive this intact, it’s likely that 2023 will bring better news for Ukraine. Saturn will have moved away from all the sensitive parts of the Ukraine, Russia, Putin 1950 charts by February just leaving Uranus to aspect them.
It’s reasonable to believe this could bring some kind of breakthrough and a movement of Ukraine closer to joining the EU / NATO.
Uranus being square to Putin’s Moon could mean that he leaves his role as President or at least his power is diluted significantly.
As with all these Mundane charts, astrology is not meant to predict what will happen, simply to give us a greater understanding of the forces that are operating throughout the world.
And given that, I feel that the 1950 chart suggested by Vera Putina is a far better tool for understanding than the 1952 pretend one that allowed little Vladimir to go in the kindergarten class.
If readers have already seen all this, my apologies. Just think of it as a sign of early stage dementia and look forward to me writing endless articles about the astrology of JFK and Margaret Thatcher.
It probably won’t come to that anyway because all the Russian journalists claiming that Vladimir Putin was born in Georgia in 1950 have since mysteriously disappeared.
