Neptune Confuses The Pollsters Every Time

Prediction is a tricky business whatever method you use.

There are many people engaged in a constant search for health pandemics, but how many of them caught Covid ?

Economic modelling carries the extra incentive of hoping to save pundits from losing their fortunes, but most of them still missed the 2008 crash.

Cryptomaniacs got caught by Bitcoin’s spectacular dive in the last 12 months.

Usually what happens is the experts go back to their own drawing boards and try to improve their models in order to lessen their chances of looking so dumb the next time.

But at no point do they turn to Astrology despite the fact that our science predicted all of the above.

One of the worst culprits are opinion pollsters. There have been some spectacular fails over the years to the point where many people no longer put much faith in them.

The usual response to these errors are that the public being asked is somehow to blame. Something that comes up whenever a right wing party surprisingly claws its way into office is that apparently people don’t like to admit to pollsters how narrow minded they actually are.

There is a very simple way to see how dumb the electorate is at any given time. Just look at the Moon.

Soon after I arrived in Australia in 2019 there was a Federal Election.

The Labor party under Bill Shorten was expected to win comfortably, only to lose to incumbent Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s Liberal / National Coalition party.

Shorten and Morrison have birthdays on consecutive days in adjacent years so there were no transits to the Sun that could separate them. But Neptune was square to Shorten’s Moon.

Neptune is never good for politicians, it indicates a loss of control that is inexplicable. It also points to a certain delusion that they would win but for some unfathomable reason they lose.

And the chart for the opening of the polls is very clear.

The Ascendant and its ruler signifies the holder and the Descendant and its ruler the challenger.

Interestingly the condition of the party’s significators show why the pollsters thought Labor would win.

Jupiter the Descendant ruler is dignified in Sagittarius in its own house. Mercury for the governing party is weak in Taurus in the 12th.

This is where many traditional astrologers would get it wrong as well. They would say that Jupiter’s dignity would be enough to win the election.

But that’s not how it works.

The Moon and its next aspects will always tell you what is going to happen.

The Moon’s first aspect is an applying trine to Neptune so immediately there is the hint of a mysterious upset.

The Moon then applies to an opposition aspect to Mercury and has no relationship with Jupiter, so the Coalition stay in power.

Opinion pollsters and most of the rest of Australia’s population blamed the voters of Queensland for inflicting a further 3 years of climate denial, racism, misogyny and Scott Morrison going round pretending to do everyone else’s jobs.

Not being a native of the country I couldn’t be sure whether this vice signalling of one whole state was entirely fair, but I guess the clue is in it’s name.

Probably the most famous opinion polling fiasco of all time was the 1948 US Presidential election.

This time the polls were so far out that the Chicago Daily Tribune published their headline ” Dewey Defeats Truman ” on the day after the election.

“Dewey and Warren ( his running mate ) won a sweeping victory in the presidential election yesterday. The early returns showed the Republican ticket leading Truman and Barkley ( the Vice President ) pretty consistently in the western and southern states” and added that “indications were that the complete returns would disclose that Dewey won the presidency by an overwhelming majority of the electoral vote”.

The following day the news showed pictures of a laughing President Truman holding up that newspaper after he had won with a massive majority and the Democrats not only retained the White House but also took control of both Houses Of Congress.

Anyone who had looked at the chart for the opening of the polls would have predicted this event very clearly.

This contest is straightforward.

As President Mars would signify Truman, Venus for Dewey.

Venus is dignified in Libra so this probably accounts for the perceived strength of the challenger going into the contest.

But Venus is applying to a conjunction with Neptune so….

The Moon very closely conjunct the Ascendant shows that the public would back the President.

The Moon is also Void of Course which in simple terms means nothing will come of the election. So no change. The incumbent President gets another 4 years.

Another factor was that Mars for Truman was in its own house.

The opening poll chart confirms what was indicated by the transits of both candidates.

Thomas Dewey had Neptune conjunct his Moon.

Harry Truman had Pluto conjunct his 11th house Leo Mars and about to square his Sun indicating that he would be at the most powerful peak of his political career.

Back in 1936, the Literary Digest had a formidable record predicting the US Presidential elections, having correctly picked the winner in 1920, 24, 28 and 32.

The magazine polled two million of its subscribers and arrived at the conclusion that Republican challenger Alf Landon would triumph over President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the Democratic incumbent.

Landon however had Natal Neptune conjunct his Moon and in 1936 it was conjunct his Sun.

He was never going to become President with that combination and Roosevelt won with 63% of the vote.

Neither Mars for Roosevelt nor Venus for Landon were strong. But Venus being in the President’s house is not a good sign for the challenger.

However the thing that clinches it is the Moon applying to a sextile to Neptune for the illusion and Mars for the President and making no connection with Venus.

The fact that this conjunction of Mars and Neptune was in the 10th house just made this even more obvious.

In 1980 opinion polls that year mostly signalled a close race between President Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan. At campaign’s end, the race seemed too close to call.

But Carter had transit Neptune square his 11th house Mercury on Election Day and Reagan won by nearly 10 percentage points.

Mars for the incumbent Carter is in its own house and not dignified in Sagittarius. And yes, you guessed it, Mars is also conjunct Neptune.

Venus for Reagan is in its own sign of Libra.

But the real killer blow backing Reagan is that the Moon is exactly ( to the minute ) conjunct Venus.

Neptune doesn’t just work to confuse the pollsters. It has played a part in the charts of every President that failed to complete a 2nd term since World War Two.

Tricky Dicky Nixon had the Sun at 19 Capricorn opposite Neptune.

Nixon of course is known for being impeached because of the Watergate break in of the offices of the Democrat party and the cover up that followed.

This event and his resignation occurred with transit Neptune square to his Venus.

He was succeeded by his Vice President Gerald Ford who bizarrely had Sun at 21 Cancer conjunct Neptune.

Nixon and Ford not only had their Suns in opposition but their Venuses in square aspect. This is no mean feat in synastry, I don’t think Ive ever seen it before.

Ford took over as President from Nixon and promptly pardoned him with transit Neptune afflicting both men’s Venus.

Apart from hitting some poor unfortunate on the head with a golf ball, Gerald Ford’s short, unelected time in office was brought to an abrupt end at the first opportunity

When Ford lost to Carter in 1976 transit Neptune was opposite his natal Saturn.

The next leader that failed to do this was another Republican, George Bush in 1992. He had Neptune opposite his 11th house Venus.

But Neptune had its finest hour when being square to Donald Trump’s Sun and Moon in November 2020, it scrambled his brain so comprehensively that he could not believe his utter humiliation and in full delusion mode tried to get his army of maggots to keep him in power by lynching everyone else.

Sadly Neptune is not on hand for these Mid Terms so it looks like the opinion polls and the astrologers get it right.
