Scorpio Will Be The Death of You

In spite of astrologers trying hard to complicate it, astrology is a very simple subject. The same is true when we try and apply it to our past lives.

But this is also true of any subject. It can take years of experience to recognise the core simplicity and truly understand what is essential and what can be ignored.

The textbook approach to our subject is probably an essential starting point, but also a hindrance.

I first started looking seriously at astrology 50 years ago, my approach to reading a chart was classic Capricorn.

I would first take the Sun sign and write a paragraph or two about that, then the Moon sign followed by the Ascendant.

Next up would be a piece on the house that the Sun was in, followed by the Moon etc.

The whole thing would take hours.

These days I feel that I can reach the essence of a chart in seconds, but if you asked me the following day what that person’s Sun or Moon sign were, I probably wouldn’t remember them.

This is because my approach to understanding the main themes of a person’s life is driven by aspects rather than signs.

When looking at a new chart, rather than searching round the wheel for the individual placements, my attention is straight away directed at the smaller circle in the middle.

I am looking for the thickest of the red lines.

The closer an aspect between planets is, the more powerful its impact on that life it will be. If you start by looking for the thickest red line, you will already have that theme.

Even if the old method of assessing a chart would have revealed it only at the very last resort.

Take the chart of Queen Victoria.

The tightest aspect is the square between Neptune at 27.59 Sagittarius and Pluto at 27.22 Pisces.

By the old method we might never have come to see it. The square between these two is a generational aspect being in orbs between the year 1808 and 1826.

So how come I am saying that an aspect that lasts for 18 years can be more important in an individual’s chart than the Moon’s sign position, which is unique to a couple of days?

But if we think about the life of Queen Victoria, the Neptune/Pluto square tells us far more than the Moon being in Gemini.

Because that square is all about death, which was probably the most important theme in her life.

Neptune being right on the cusp of the 8th house of death, exactly square to Pluto, the planet of death, backed up with the second tightest aspect of her chart, another square to Saturn, death’s older brother is immediately showing us where the main action in Victoria’s life is.

Don’t believe me?

Neptune moves exceptionally slowly so by transit would have only made two aspects to its natal position in Victoria’s life.

So just look up where transit Neptune was at the time of the two most significant deaths in her life.

On the 14th December 1861, when her Prince Albert died, Neptune was at 27.50 Pisces, exactly conjunct Saturn and Pluto and square its own natal position.

On 22nd January 1901, when Victoria herself died, Neptune was at 27.00 Gemini, exactly square Saturn and Pluto and opposite its own natal position.

As I said, astrology is that simple.

Even when you look at synastry with other people’s charts.

There may be a lot of red lines in Albert’s chart but again the thickest one is between Neptune at 25.57 Sagittarius and Pluto at 27.01 Pisces.

We have the same theme with death and his older brother in the house of death in square to Neptune.

And of course with Albert dying when transit Neptune was conjunct his Pluto and Saturn.

We know all about the impact of Albert’s death on Victoria and I have detailed a lot about their connection and how they were reincarnated as their great great granddaughter Queen Elizabeth and her own consort Philip in We Return To Be Amazed, Not Amused

But what about Victoria’s own death?

Who would have been the one person most affected by that?

Obviously that would have been the guy who had been waiting for it for 60 years.

Victoria’s son, Edward had been waiting forever for his inheritance and acceded to the throne only for the final decade of his life.

There are a couple of very thick red lines in Edward’s chart.

One is the opposition between Venus and Pluto, but I will come onto that later.

The other is the square between the Moon in the house of death and Saturn (death’s older brother) right on the Ascendant.

As the Moon is obviously referring to Edward’s mother and Saturn being on his Ascendant blocking him from playing his rightful role in life, we are once again straight at one of the major themes in his life.

And of course the transit of Neptune which finally knocked Victoria off her perch was right in the middle of this lot at the time, conjunct Edward’s Ascendant/Saturn and square to that Moon.

It goes without saying that this was the only time transit Neptune aspected this group in his life.

Another important point to make is that Neptune does play a fairly thick red role in Edward’s life as well.

It is square to his 10th house Scorpio Sun, which would be another indicator of a promising career undermined and thwarted by someone else not dying early enough.

Which when you think of it has a lot of similarities with another one.

Like Edward, Charles also has a Scorpio Sun, conjunct his.

They both have Venus in Libra conjunct each others.

They both have Jupiter in Sagittarius in tight hard aspect with Uranus.

But perhaps most importantly from the perspective of this article, they both have a dominant Moon in square to their Ascendant

These Moons also aspect their Saturns.

So they both have mothers that block their birthright and delay their inheritance.

Another fact that could be of significance is that Edward’s tightest aspect, the Moon/Saturn square fits exactly on Charles strongest red line, the Jupiter/Uranus opposition.

Given these similarities and the fact that their mothers and fathers were reincarnations of each other, is it possible that Edward was reborn 38 years later as his own great, great grandchild?

A good place to start would be to regress Charles’ chart back to Edward’s death.

This is quite stunning.

Charles’ regressed Mars is exactly conjunct his Sun.

His regressed Mercury is conjunct its own position (1.5 degree orb).

His regressed Sun is exactly conjunct his Neptune and opposite his Midheaven.

His regressed Venus is exactly trine his Moon.

What about Charles’ regressions to Edward’s birth?

Charles’ regressed Sun is 2 degrees away from his Ascendant.

His regressed Moon is 4 away from an opposition with his Sun.

His regressed Venus is 1.5 away from a conjunction with his Uranus.

These are all very significant, but with secondary regressions I am generally looking for an orb of 1 degree or less.

What about Charles chart regressed to Edward’s coronation?

Charles’ regressed Venus and Moon are exactly square to his Sun.

His regressed Sun is sextile his Ascendant.

What about the other way round?

What if we progress Edward’s chart to the date of Charles’ birth?

It would probably help to refresh Edward’s chart at this point.

There are no real standout progressions here.

Maybe the Ascendant opposite itself but otherwise the closest would be the 1.5 degree progressed Venus square to Mercury.

Considering that they both had to wait ages for to get their jobs, what about progressing Edward’s chart forward to the date of Charles’ coronation.

This is much more like it.

Edward’s progressed Sun is opposite his natal Sun, the orb is 2 degrees but this also means that it would be closer when Elizabeth died, 8 months earlier.

His progressed Mercury would be even closer to opposite his Sun.

Edward’s progressed Mars is exactly opposite his Mercury.

The extremely tight T Square in the regressed chart between with the Ascendant opposite Neptune focusing on an apex 10th house Sun does seem to be saying that this is the moment when Edward finally got the top job again.

Particularly when we look at his progressed chart for when he got it the first time round.

An exact Venus/Jupiter conjunction on the Midheaven.

The Sun is 18.35 Capricorn exactly trine its position for Charles’ coronation.

Mars at 2.05 Pisces is exactly square its position for Charles’ one.

Venus is exactly quincunx its own position.

For Edward’s coronation his progressed Sun is exactly square to Pluto (orb or 22 minutes).

For Charles’ coronation Edward’s progressed Sun is exactly square to Neptune (orb 22 minutes).

This lot would confirm that Charles is a reincarnation of his great, great grandfather.

Which seems very fitting when we remember that Charles mother, Elizabeth was Victoria, Edward’s mother.

We know a great deal about Charles’ life and the problems his love life caused for Elizabeth, but this is nothing in comparison to the ones Edward caused for Victoria.

This is where we come onto the other thick red line in Edward’s chart, the exact opposition from Venus in Libra with Pluto.

These two also form a T square with an apex Mars in Capricorn in the 1st house.

Edward VII was in an arranged marriage with Alexandra of Denmark “but had a prolific love life with numerous mistresses, including actresses, socialites, and aristocrats like Lillie Langtry and Jennie Jerome the mother of Winston Churchill.

Edward was known for his affairs and his preference for Parisian brothels” which is probably covered by that Venus being in the 9th house.

“Edward was responsible for commissioning arguably one of the most famous pieces of erotic furniture of all time – the love chair. It took the form of a brocade ‘bunk bed’ of stacking seats, complete with stirrups to hold the legs of not one, but two different partners.

A threesome chair, if you will, designed for a royal with famously gargantuan sexual appetites.”

Not for nothing was he known as Dirty Bertie and Edward The Caresser. He appeared to have more in common with Andrew than with Charles.

Edward’s favourite and final long-term mistress was Alice Keppel.

And you can see why.

With that Mars/Mercury/Neptune conjunction in Aries, Alice would have created a fantasy wonderland for Edward, whose own Venus/Mars/Pluto T square fitted right in there.

That, and her own Sun/Pluto conjunction being tantalisingly opposite Edward’s Scorpio Sun.

As it turns out Alice Keppel is the great-grandmother of Camilla.

In a way we could conceive of our lives as some kind of Olympic relay race.

It’s the same soul team with individual life runners.

We can’t say that Camilla was her reincarnation because Alice died in September 1947, two months after she was born.

But this seems just about long enough for Alice to pass the baton to baby Camilla with a few tips on how to snare a royal prince.

If we regress Camilla’s chart to Alice’s birthdate, we might be able to ascertain what those tips were.

Camilla’s regressed Sun is a mere 1.5 degrees away from Alice’s Sun.

Her regressed Mars is exactly on Alice’s Mars (1/4 degree orb).

Alice Keppel was said to be one of the most beautiful women of her time, but apart from that there do seem to be some similarities with Camilla.

Alice’s Moon is exactly conjunct Camilla’s Ascendant.

There is also an intriguing Venus/Uranus thing going on.

Alice’s Venus is exactly conjunct Camilla’s Uranus.

Camilla’s Venus and Moon are exactly conjunct Alice’s Uranus.

I’m sure there is a joke in there somewhere that might explain both Edward and Charles’ keen interest.

This synastry may also help to explain Charles’ obsession with coming back as a tampon.

When Camilla was first introduced to Charles she popped the question

“My great-grandmother was the mistress of your great-grandfather… so how about it.”

As a chat up line that covers both incest and necrophilia, it would be perfect for a Scorpio.
