One thing I have learned in half a century of studying astrology is it’s all about planetary aspects.
And the tighter they are the stronger the connection.
This simple fact applies across the board but even more so when we are looking at the phenomenon of soulmates.
Its as if the Universe knows that its so important that these two people come together at some point in their lives that the their charts will interact like extremely powerful magnets, that can reach out across 10,000 miles.
Astrology is a quantum science and two souls that are entangled will be brought together like a pair of electrons even if one has jumped to another galaxy.
I know this because it happened to me.
I have the Sun, Moon and Ascendant in Capricorn with a Venus / Saturn conjunction in Scorpio.
Naturally with that combination I assumed that love would never happen for me, I was even doubtful that it happened for anyone and that people who claimed it were just exaggerating.
All that changed at the age of 63, when I met my soulmate on Twitter, fell in love with someone who was 13 years younger than me before I’d even been in the same room as her, left everything to move to the other side of the world and became engaged a week later.
What I now realise is that Saturn doesn’t deny, it simply delays.
And people with Venus and the Sun a long way apart are likely to meet their person later in life.
My Venus is in the 9th house in square to a 7th house Pluto, pointing to the sudden unexpected change but also to the fact that it would transport me to the other side of the globe.
My soulmate, now my wife, has Venus in Pisces opposite Pluto in the 9th house indicating a similar experience.
Our synastry has an exactness that is mind blowing.
My Ascendant is 28.08 Capricorn, hers is 27.47 Capricorn.
My Moon is 16.27 Capricorn, hers is 16.15 Aries.
My Mars is 15.48 Pisces, her Venus is 17.18 Pisces.
My 7th house Pluto is 26.37 Leo, her Jupiter is 26.40 Leo
My Venus is 21.57 Scorpio, her Pluto is 21.05 Virgo.
There are other synastry contacts as well but these are the tightest ones.
The chances of any pair of charts having this level of synastry contacts are billions to one against.
It was Secondary Progressions that brought us together.
Given that our relationship is so Venus / Pluto and we both have them in natal aspect, its hardly surprising that this would happen the only time they were both connected by progression in our lives.
Karen’s progressed Venus was trine her 9th house Pluto.
My progressed Venus was quincunx my 7th house Pluto. That Venus was also conjunct my Ascendant and opposite my 7th house Uranus and Jupiter.
Another important point is that Karen’s progressed Venus was exactly opposite my Venus.
And my progressed Venus was conjunct her Ascendant.
This is another reason why this quantum magnetism works when it does.
The progressions latch on exactly to the placements in each person’s chart that have the strongest connections to each other
But when synastry and progressions are that tight age and geographical distances are irrelevant.
Catherine Zeta Jones has a Libra stellium in the 9th house which is already telling us that relationships and long distance travel would be key themes in her life.
Her extremely close trine from Venus in Virgo to Mars in Capricorn forming a Grand Trine pattern with Saturn speaks of a powerful earthy sensuality that propelled her to stardom due to her appearance in the TV series The Darling Buds Of May.
It was this that brought her into the orbit of her own September.
The synastry is staggeringly strong.
Catherine’s Sun is 2.18 Libra, Michael’s Sun is 2.23 Libra
Catherine’s Uranus is 4.16 Libra, Michael’s Neptune is 3.56 Libra
Catherine’s Mars is 2.40 Capricorn, Michael’s Moon is 3.36 Capricorn
Both have 4 planet Libra stelliums
Both have Mercury / Jupiter conjunctions in aspect to Uranus.
Both have Venus / Mars aspects.
Both have Mars / Saturn and Mars / Uranus aspects.
Despite an age difference of a quarter of a century, and background at least as divergent ( Michael born into Hollywood royalty and Catherine a humble Swansea family ) these astrological connections had to bring them together.
And the timing was entirely down to their progressions..
Just to reiterate, progressions are very simple. They will only make one major aspect to any natal planet or placement in a whole lifetime.
So when you get one, it really counts.
Catherine and Michael met in 1998 and married in 2000.
Catherine’s progressed Sun was sextile her Mars and sextile her Venus, right in the middle of the two.
Michael’s progressed Venus was conjunct his Moon and square his Sun.
When you remember that these are the placements that are so tightly woven into their synastry, these progressions become even more on point.
Because Catherine’s progressed Sun was sextile Michael’s Moon
And Michael’s progressed Venus was conjunct Catherine’s Mars and trine her Venus.
We could use the Mrs Merton question – ” So Catherine, what attracted you to multi millionaire famous actor Michael Douglas ” and given that their synastry and her progressions strongly focus on his 2nd house Capricorn Moon…..
Also given Michael’s are directed powerfully to Catherine’s tight Mars in the 1st house trine Venus…..
But it just goes to show that we old Capricorn Moons can still pull the hottest chicks.
