Astrology is an endlessly fascinating subject. Every time you look at one person’s chart you see many other potential lines of enquiry.
As he announced his coming resignation as Canadian Prime Minister, I checked Justin Trudeau’s chart.

It is a powerful one with two tight T Squares.
One is based on a Mars/Pluto opposition and focused on an apex Capricorn Sun.
Another has Saturn at the Midheaven opposite Neptune and an apex Virgo Ascendant.
There is also an exact Moon/Uranus opposition.
Over the coming months, transit Pluto will be conjunct Trudeau’s Venus, Neptune and Saturn will be conjunct his Mars and Uranus will be conjunct his Midheaven.
This quadruple whammy would indicate a watershed change in his life, and he would certainly have no chance in any upcoming Canadian election, so has either shown good sense or been given astrological advice and decided that the best thing for himself and his country would be to quit.
I am old enough to remember his father Pierre Trudeau who was Prime Minister between 1968 and 84.
Justin, being born into a political family, would have certain advantages which made it much more likely that he would become the Prime Minister.
If we were looking for family advantage in a chart we would expect it to involve the Moon, Jupiter and the 4th house.
Trudeau has Jupiter in the 4th in trine with the Moon. The Moon is also exactly opposite Uranus.

His Dad had the Moon conjunct Jupiter opposite Uranus in the 4th house.
Pierre’s Moon is in exact trine with Justin’s Jupiter and forms a Grand Trine with his Moon.
Clearly Justin Trudeau has benefitted from his family heritage.
But is this a one off, or would we find similar patterns in other political dynasties?
Over the border they were doing this kind of thing pretty much from the start.

The 3rd US President, John Quincy Adams was the son of the 2nd one, John.
Quincy has the Moon in the 4th in exact trine to Jupiter.
It was also right opposite his 10th house Sun, so clearly it was a major theme in his life.

Dad also had some help from his own family, with Jupiter in the 4th and the Moon in exact trine to Uranus there.
Senior’s Moon forms a T Square with Junior’s Sun and Moon too.

Benjamin Harrison was the grandson of earlier President William Henry and a 4th house Moon in close opposition with a 10th house Jupiter showed nepotism was alive and well throughout the 19th century.

Grandad had the Moon as part of a Kite involving Uranus and Mercury, Venus and Pluto at the Midheaven and Mars in Cancer at the IC so clearly family values played a large part in his ascent to the top job too.

A Moon/Jupiter conjunction close to the IC and square to a Cancer Sun gave Dubya the lift he needed to become the first monkey in the White House.

Dad’s own Moon was a mere degree away his son’s own, sextile a 4th house Jupiter and trine a 10th house Sun.
Does this kind of thing go on in other countries?
The most well known example has to be the Gandhi dynasty in India.

Indira Gandhi was the daughter of India’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
The Moon trine a 10th house Jupiter and sextile a 4th house Sun would have been a great help in keeping the family dynasty going.

The fact that her dad also had a 4th house Sun just a few degrees away from his daughter’s own has to be significant.
Indira Gandhi was assassinated, a fact that was probably indicated by her T square apex Mars.

Indira’s own son, Rajiv succeeded her with a Moon/Venus/Jupiter conjunction.
Intriguingly Rajiv’s Moon is conjunct his mother’s Mars.
His Moon is also in close square with Uranus.
When transit Uranus formed the opposite square to his Moon (and his mother’s Mars) in October 1984, Indira was assassinated and Rajiv took over as Prime Minister.
Rajiv Gandhi was also assassinated and his wife Sonia later became Prime Minister.

Sonia had Jupiter in the 4th house, perhaps its conjunction with Venus showed that she owed her high office to marriage rather than being someone’s daughter (Moon).
Of course the whole family dynasty/ assassination theme had happened in the US as well.

An 8th house stellium did for JFK, but he also had the Moon/Jupiter trine.
As Uranus often seems to get a mention in these charts, a 4th house placing and an exact square with Jupiter would have come in handy too.

With a Moon/Jupiter conjunction in the 10th house, no doubt brother Bobby would have made it to the top job as well, if he hadn’t also been assassinated.
We can always hold out hope that all of these themes come together.

The Moon in the 4th house opposite the Sun and Uranus in the 10th and sextile Jupiter has clearly shown the family advantage that has propelled Donald Trump into the White House.
Will this be the start of an orange dynasty?

Junior’s Moon is the apex of a T square involving Jupiter and forms an exact T square with his Dad’s own Sun and Moon.
Close, but with that Mercury/Neptune conjunction in the 6th house, the cocaine habit will probably get him first.
Intriguingly Justin Trudeau also has Mercury in Sagittarius conjunct Neptune and aspected with Jupiter.
So now I have to do another article on the astrology on family silver and coke spoons.
