Till Death Us Do Part? – Depends Who’s In The West Wing

It never ceases to amaze me that the very people who bang on about God’s will have absolutely zero interest in trying to find out what that actually is.

I guess they must just assume it’s the same as their own and that everyone else should just accept it.

Astrology shows us that every single person is unique and has their own path to follow, each one being equally as valid as any other.

But religion has always tried to suppress and control this, stating that one particular route is normal and required by God, and all other ones are evil.

This has caused more pain and suffering in human life than anything else, particularly when it is applied to marriage and relationships.

“Marriage is a sacrament, ordained by God” and “Till death do us part” and “What God has wrought, let no man put asunder”

Presumably this would be the same God that brought people into the world with 7th house permutations that would make such intentions absolutely impossible, and the poor souls who were desperately trying to conform would believe they were inevitably going to spend eternity in hell for simply being led where their birthchart demanded they should be.

So why does society and religion insist on one marriage for life, and if it didn’t last that long it was a failure?

At least half of all marriages end in divorce, so why isn’t it considered normal and acceptable to be married more than once?

Obviously it’s in the best interests of the children to have a system that encourages two parents to stay together.

But why insist that the right souls to do that parenting job should remain together on pain of eternal damnation, once they have left the nest?

Our needs change. What works for our placements at one stage in our life, will not necessarily do that once other transits have kicked in.

Whatever our natal chart themes say, we are also impacted by transits, particularly those of the outer planets, demanding change. If we insist on remaining in the same situation, we will just suffer more.

In Britain the average life expectancy in 1600 was a mere 35 years.

In most countries once you’d reached your first Saturn Return (29 years) you might as well start saying your goodbyes.

It was just long enough to raise a family if you got started early and were lucky.

These days we expect three Saturn returns and people feel cheated if they don’t last long enough to see Uranus come back to its natal place (84 years).

So maybe our views on marriage should adjust from the Saturnian (till death us do part) to more Uranian ones (anything goes).

Even Presidents think they’re entitled to stay in the job until well after their Uranus returns .

And both of the current candidates for turning the West Wing into a care home, have decidedly East Wing charts.

Astrology really is very simple, despite the various attempts of many of its followers to unnecessarily complicate it.

The Sun is our individuality, it’s what gives us light, warmth and life itself.

It rises in the east, and that left hand side of the chart near the Ascendant is all about our immediate personal expression. If you have the Sun there, your own personal themes are strong, dominating the environment around you.

The Sun, and our sense of individuality sets in the west. If you have the Sun near the Descendant (7th house cusp) on the right side of the chart, you are being required to put the themes and needs of other people, particularly your marriage partner, above your own.

One previous, and would be future, occupant of the West Wing has a decidedly Eastern emphasis in his chart.

Donald Trump has nothing at all between the 5th and 9th houses, his eastern emphasis is strongly focused onto a powerful Mars in Leo, right on the Ascendant.

His whole life is about pushing this Mars in Leo agenda.

The Western half of his chart is irrelevant. The 7th house and marriage for him is not a thing. He doesn’t care about it at all. It’s just about which particular Eastern European sex worker is prepared to put up with the stench long enough for the pay off.

The current elderly occupant also has a strong eastern focus.

It’s not as strong as Trump’s, but the Sun and Venus on the Ascendant with Mercury and Mars within spitting distance shows that it’s mainly his own themes that get an airing.

Joe Biden does however have an extremely troubling Saturn/Uranus conjunction on his Descendant, which means that he has some very challenging marital themes to deal with.

It’s well documented that Biden lost his first wife and child in a car crash. For more information on this see No Ordinary Joe

I have a client born the year before Biden, who also has the Saturn/Uranus conjunction on her Descendant.

She is a strong character, with Sun/Pluto conjunction in Leo, Scorpio rising and Mars in Aries. She was from a Protestant family,

Her teenage love, a Catholic, had the Moon in the 7th house in square to the same Saturn/Uranus conjunction.

They have strong synastry, their Moons were in close trine, their Suns were in tight square aspect.

He is a 4th house Scorpio Sun with Cancer rising. With the Moon in the 7th, his mother would have a great deal to say about his marriage.

The mother refused to accept him marrying a Protestant and forced him to break it off.

What in their astrology was responsible for this situation?

It was Neptune, the natural ruler of religious superstition.

Transit Neptune was conjunct his Sun and square to hers at the time.

Uranus was also opposite his 7th house Moon (triggering the natal square).

A few years later, he defied his mother and turned up at her house, but Uranus was conjunct her Venus and Saturn was conjunct his 7th house Moon and she had got engaged to someone else the day before.

So they went their separate ways and married other people, he doing so when Neptune was square to his Moon.

Over 40 years later, after her husband died, they reconnected apparently by chance. They still had strong feelings for each other, moved in together and remain a couple 17 years later.

Of course we know there’s no such thing as chance, as Neptune was conjunct his 7th house Moon at the time.

So Neptune was conjunct his Sun and square hers when religion split them up and conjunct his Moon when they got back together.

And they say God/Neptune moves in mysterious ways.

What if the interfering, god fearing mother hadn’t put a stop to it in the first place?

But you can never say what if?

The mother’s role was just as crucial and right as anything else. These two souls were destined to spend the best part of half a century apart.

They both had families of their own with all the astrological themes that the Universe required them to have.

Coming back to the chart hemisphere thing, you might think that most famous celebrities have an East Wing focus because they are constantly putting themselves out there.

And you would be right. My research into the charts of 20,000 public figures proves both this notion and astrology generally. See The Capricorn Research Project

But some of the most surprising ones have a strong West Wing, and this can be seen in their marriages.

When I first started researching this article, I googled celebrities who married their childhood sweethearts. The first two that came up on this list had a strong 7th house focus.

American basketball superstar, LeBron James has a Western hemisphere emphasis with the Sun in the 7th house.

He married his childhood sweetheart in 2013 when transit Pluto was conjunct his Sun.

The other 7th house planet is Neptune.

Interestingly both Sun and Neptune are sextile to his 10th house Mars. This is unusual because if 7th house planets are going to aspect 10th house ones, it’s usually by a challenging square.

As a married couple they have joint business ventures.

When they married, transit Neptune was conjunct LeBron’s Mars.

My research over the last 50 years has taught me that rigid house systems do not apply, but the hemispheres and angles of a chart are extremely important.

If a planet is conjunct the Ascendant, IC, Descendant or Midheaven, it’s influence belongs in the angular houses (1st, 4th, 7th or 10th), even if it is technically placed in the cadent houses before them (12th, 3rd, 6th or 9th).

An example of this is Lebron’s ruling planet Mercury. While it appears to be in his 6th house, it is actually a 7th house influence.

This statement is reinforced by the fact that he started dating Savannah Brinson in 2002, when transit Pluto was conjunct his Mercury.

Mercury also totally describes her.

I don’t have a birthtime for Savannah James but she does have her lights in mercurial signs, Sun in Virgo, Moon in Gemini.

While for LeBron, marriage was a Pluto transit, for Savannah it was a Neptune one.

She has the Sun in close trine to Neptune at birth. When she married it was exactly opposite her Sun and forming a Grand Cross with the Moon and Saturn.

The second on the childhood sweetheart list was rap star Snoop Dogg.

Snoop has an even stronger 7th house emphasis than LeBron, with the Moon, Mercury and Venus in Scorpio there.

With the Sun within 4 degrees of the Descendant, it becomes a 7th house influence.

Snoop also married his childhood sweetheart, Shantay Taylor.

They started dating in the late 1980s when transit Pluto was conjunct Snoop’s Moon and Venus.

They married in 1997, with transit Chiron conjunct his Sun and Descendant.

It wasn’t all plain sailing though. Snoop (like Lebron James) has Neptune in the 7th.

When transit Neptune was square to his Moon and Venus in 2004, he filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, but when the same planet conjoined his Mars in 2008, they renewed their vows.

Again I don’t have a birthtime for Shantay, but her synastry with Snoop is powerful.

She was born only 10 days after him anyway, so the slower movers would be conjunct each other.

Her Sun at 6 Scorpio is conjunct Snoop’s 7th house Mercury, Venus and Moon, so she is his ideal partner.

She married Snoop when Uranus was square her Sun.

In many ways you would think that Snoop Dogg would be the least likely character to marry his childhood sweetheart and settle happily ever after, but his West Wing emphasis, particularly with the Libra Sun means he is designed for marriage, it is the main area of focus in his chart.

Young, Wild and Free? Maybe his Mars in Aquarius in the 11th house.

But the West Wing stellium is more Old, Tamed and Taken.

And as he was born at sunset, it’s without doubt the will of God.
