We can all remember what it was like to start secondary school.

Coming from a relatively benign environment where we were amongst the oldest and biggest fishes in a small local pond where we knew the ropes and had built comfortable alliances over the years, we are suddenly thrust into a land of giants.

All our social certainties have vanished, the people around us seem to be aliens and one of them in particular is an old style bully with his eyes on our packed lunch.

This guy has a powerful instinct for the smaller ones, looking to isolate them in corners of the schoolyard issuing ominous threats of violence.

This must be how Panama, Greenland and Colombia are feeling right now. Even Mexico and Canada are getting the death stare.

“Hand over your pocket money or I’ll impose tariffs” packs the kind of menace that people who have never read a history or economics book (or even any kind of book at all) would applaud.

“That’ll teach em, they won’t like having to sell their goods to us at higher prices” ignoring the fact that those prices would still be cheaper than the home made versions so simply resulting in Americans having to pay more for the same stuff. As well as provoking the inevitable retaliatory increases that make it impossible for them to sell their own products abroad.

The threats are real but they also have a very last century feel. As does the person issuing them.

Donald Trump is known as the Mango Mussolini for good reason.

They both have important Leo and Gemini placements so a great deal of hot air comes to mind.

Just over a hundred years ago, Benito Mussolini came to power in Italy and immediately began throwing his weight around the smaller corners of the Mediterranean schoolyard. Libya, Corfu and Ethiopia were the targets that he isolated.

Eventually he stepped into the bigger arena and tried to take on the really big boys and ended up being strung up from a lamppost.

Could the same thing happen for Mussolini’s modern day counterpart?

Is there an even bigger Gemini/Leo combination waiting to take him on?

Very possibly.

Xi Jinping the Chinese leader may have been born 7 years later than Donald Trump but for our current purposes it’s the extra day that is significant.

His Sun at 23 Gemini is conjunct Trump’s own at 22.55 of the sign.

This also means that Xi’s Sun is opposite Trump’s Moon at 21.12 Sagittarius.

And this becomes particularly relevant now as Saturn approaches these degrees of Pisces, in square aspect to all of the above.

There is also the small matter of the lunar eclipse in the middle of March at 23 Pisces/Virgo in square to Trump’s own Sun/Moon opposition so it was always going too be a difficult month for him but it could turn out to be similar for Xi.

However this could be just the start of something more sinister.

We don’t have a birthtime for Xi, so it’s hard to be exact about his Moon placement. A noon chart gives 6 degrees of Leo in square to his Venus at 8 Taurus.

But what we do know is that sometime over the coming few years Xi will have transit Pluto opposite his Moon and square to Venus.

This would also factor into something similar happening in the China chart.

With the Moon at 3 and Ascendant at 6 degrees of Aquarius, the next few years are going to see some seriously radical moves happening in China.

So with Xi’s Moon somewhere near opposition to these placements, this is a confirmation.

Given that Pluto in the China chart is conjunct Mars in the house of enemies (7th in a Mundane chart), I had been expecting some major confrontation to occur with this transit.

And it also seemed fairly likely what would trigger this.

This is a noon chart and there is some question about whether it is the right one for Taiwan anyway.

There are certain things about it that seem to fit the country’s situation.

A Moon/Uranus conjunction in the 4th house together with a Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius would suggest a radical, unconventional set up.

A Mars/Saturn conjunction in the 7th house square to its Sagittarius Sun would indicate that Taiwan’s hard won freedoms are always under threat from their larger neighbours.

With a Venus/Jupiter conjunction at 1 Aquarius you would have thought Taiwan’s independence from China would have been seriously challenged by the Pluto transit.

But whilst China continues to assert it’s right to ownership, so far there have not been any major confrontations that might trigger some kind of global war.

Transit Saturn has been forming the opposing square to the Taiwan Sun for much of the last year.

Saturn is now about to oppose itself and the Taiwan Mars. With this and the eclipse falling close to this Mars, we could indeed still see tensions building to a peak over the coming weeks.

However recent developments have made me question whether the Chinese Pluto transit will be focused on the Taiwan Strait.

As I write this piece, Pluto has just ticked over to 2 Aquarius.

In the last week or so, the Sun has also passed the China Moon and Ascendant. In the last day or two the Moon has joined in.

So with all of this building, you would think that something would have occurred in the last week that would be indicative of the battles to come.

And there has been nothing in the news about Taiwan.

But there has been something else.

“On 10 January 2025, DeepSeek released its first free chatbot app, by 27 January, it had surpassed ChatGPT as the most-downloaded free app in the United States, causing Nvidia’s share price to drop by 18%. DeepSeek’s success against larger and more established rivals has been described as “upending AI”, constituting “the first shot at what is emerging as a global AI space race”, and ushering in “a new era of A.I. brinkmanship”.

Apart from it being in May 2023, there is no available date for the foundation of DeepSeek the company, but the noon chart for the release of the app is interesting.

Pluto in Aquarius in the 10th opposite Mars and forming an exact trine with the Moon in Gemini in the 2nd, is witness to the power and financial success of this app.

Particularly when we relate it to the chart for its founder, Liang Wengfeng.

The Moon in the release chart sits exactly on Liang’s Sun.

This is again a noon chart so we cannot be sure of the exact position of his Moon, but it’s most likely to be in the last decanate of Gemini.

This means that Jupiter is about to go over his Moon and Mars over the next few months, just as it is for Trump and Xi’s Suns.

The eclipse and Saturn will also square his Moon.

The sudden appearance from nowhere of Liang and Deepseek is surely related to China’s Pluto transit and maybe testimony that the coming conflict with the US is going to be fought not over Taiwan but over AI.

Which if you think about it is perfect for the kind of conflict that we should expect at the heart of the Pluto in Aquarius era.

So while Donald Trump is trying to play schoolyard bully with threats of tariffs and physical force that are more reminiscent of the 2nd World War Pluto in Leo period, he is caught completely off guard by a much bigger threat coming from cyberspace.

This is the kind of thing that can happen when you go up to big school.

It won’t be long before even the most diehard maggot will be regretting voting for a President as stupid as they are themselves.
