While on a skiing holiday in Canada, my youngest (then 7 year old) son discovered the TV show Hannah Montana and it reluctantly became part of the family apres ski experience.
Fortunately I managed to persuade him that it wasn’t available back home, and so I assumed that was the last time I would have to listen to the phenomenon that now goes by the name Miley Cyrus.
A decade later, I wrote a piece about her chart and its strong similarities with that of a much bigger star, see Miley Cyrus – Madonna, The Sequel
This was based on the fact that they both had the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Pluto conjunct the Ascendant, albeit in different signs, Miley in Scorpio/Sagittarius, Madonna in Leo/Virgo.
Yet another decade passed when I was shocked to find that the time I had for Cyrus’ chart was completely wrong, and the stellium was on the opposite side of the chart.
My half century of research into astrology has proved many things but the headline piece has to be the one on the hemisphere emphasis of public figures – Does This Prove Astrology?
This shows that in a sample of over 20,000, famous people are more likely to have the Sun on the Ascendant side of the chart. The chances of this distribution occurring by chance are 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000010094 %.
In fact I actually used Madonna’s chart as an example
“In Astrology an emphasis on the left hand (Sunrise) side of a chart, particularly if planets are in the first house or close to the Ascendant, indicates a person who is generally self motivated, initiating and assertive with a strong drive to be the centre of attention. Self determination and one’s own path in life are the most important themes. In simple terms the 1st house is the house of the self.
For the other type I wrote –
“An emphasis on the right hand (Sunset) side of a chart, particularly if planets are in the 7th house or close to the Descendant, indicates a person who is generally concerned with or dependent on other peoples activities and needs in order to pursue their own drives. Cooperation and relationships are the most important themes. In simple terms the 7th house is the house of the marriage partner.”
In the article comparing her to Madonna, I wrote this about Miley
“As a rule the Scorpio Moon is quite secretive and has a strong sense of self control so other people would be surprised at the kind of things they get up to. Miley Cyrus, however, has this aspect in conjunction with the Sun and Ascendant at the beginning of Sagittarius so there’s no chance of secrecy here. It’s all expressed strongly and directly like everything else.
The combination of the Sun, Moon, Ascendant and Pluto is very unusual. It would only occur for about an hour every couple of years or so. For Cyrus, it shows someone who has to be as sexually provocative as possible. In fact this is her job in this life and everyone else can either enjoy it or switch to the other channel.”
So to find that Miley Cyrus was in fact a 7th houser rather than a 1st houser was indeed a shock.
How could someone who I had assumed to be an archetypal east sider, have the themes of the west side of marriage as the dominant ones in her life?
So I sacrificed twenty years of successfully managing to ignore Miley Cyrus and googled her, coming up with this.

Now when we are talking about a stellium that includes a Moon/Pluto conjunction in Scorpio, it’s pretty clear that we wouldn’t expect a Stepford wife type 7th house experience.
Its bound to be emotionally volatile and sudden changes of mind would be par for the course.
So given all of the above, it’s hardly surprising that the main battleground for Miley Cyrus’ chart is the Descendant.
Besides the Descendant emphasis and the Moon/Pluto conjunction, Cyrus also has Venus, the natural ruler of the 7th house conjunct Uranus and Neptune.
So we would expect the three outer planets to be particularly involved in all this by transit.
They do not disappoint.
From 2009 – 12, transit Neptune was square to Miley’s Moon and Sun.
From 2013 – 14, transit Pluto was conjunct her Venus and Uranus was square to it with the big break up.
The actual marriage and equally sudden ending (late 2018 – 19) came once transit Saturn had decided to put a stop to all this when it was conjunct her Venus/Uranus/Neptune.
It goes without saying that the person on the other end of all this had similar transits.
Liam Hemsworth has a 5 planet stellium in Capricorn, all conjunct Cyrus’ Venus, which makes him the perfect candidate.
All of the above occurred while Pluto transited through this stellium, with the marriage and final break happening while it was conjunct his Sun.
Given all of the above, I’m tempted to offer this version of Hemsworth’s chart.
The 9th house stellium makes sense as he has made his fortune on the other side of the world, but more particularly it places Pluto in his 7th, its exact square to a 4th house Moon, perfectly describing his married life.
Currently Miley Cyrus is in a relationship with another Plutonian.
Maxx Morando’s Sun and Venus are bang on Miley Cyrus’ Moon/Pluto.
However transit Uranus is about to hit her Ascendant and oppose her Moon and his Sun/Venus. So we could be in for another chapter and maybe Miley is about to get f…sucked again.
My son has Scorpio rising, conjunct Miley’s Moon/Pluto. Back in the day he was convinced that he would marry Hannah Montana.
With Uranus about to go over his Descendant, this might be his big chance.
