The moment when someone first discovers that serious astrology works is an extraordinary one. There is an experience of astonishment. There is also a sense that in some way or another, their life will never be the same again.

But there is also probably a sense that they will get used to this feeling, that they won’t continue to be as amazed by their discoveries through astrology in the future.

In fact this does not happen. If they continue with their studies, they will become more and more astonished by astrology as it reveals itself to them.

This will particularly be the case if they study horary.

We may believe we understand our birth charts and the transits to them, so we know all there is to know about the subject, at least in the way it relates to us.

This is a grave misapprehension. We are missing the most valuable and spiritual component of the subject.

Through horary astrology, we can receive an instant download into our brains from the vertical dimension.

Through even the most mundane questions that rise in our brain, we are able to access the essence of the moment, to perceive reality as it truly is, just as those very questions are answered.

With horary, we are opening ourselves up to the language of the Universe. The more often we use it, the more clearly it speaks to us and the greater the rewards are.

I have a client, a businessman, who has been studying astrology for many years. He first got in touch about a year ago and I have introduced him to horary. He is fascinated by the subject.

We have regular consultations, every 2-3 weeks because there are so many situations that horary can be successfully applied to.

Together with an understanding of transits and how the energy can be used in a positive way, horary astrology has guided him through a family bereavement, the sale of his business in such a way that he is still employed as a consultant, the purchase of his dream home, arrangement of family holidays and all kinds of other things.

Just prior to a recent consultation, he asked the question “Will buying this piece of art be a good use of my money?”

Here is the horary chart.

The first thing that I always do when looking at a horary is check whether it resonates with the chart of the person asking the question.

In horary, the Ascendant and particularly its ruler signifies them. My client is a Sun Aries with the Moon at 4 Pisces. He also has an early degree of Sagittarius rising.

This horary has Aries rising and the ruler Mars at 5 Pisces. The Moon is at 3 Sagittarius.

We are looking at a confirmation with odds of over 200000/1 against this connection occurring by chance.

A purchase of this kind is a 2nd house issue, so we are looking at the ruler of that which is Venus.

Venus is in very bad shape. It is in Aries, the sign of its detriment. It is in the 12th house and conjunct Saturn and Neptune.

So by any way of looking at this we have to say that this purchase would be a poor investment and would certainly not be a good use of his money.

I noticed however that the Moon was about to apply to a trine aspect with Venus and then go on to a square with Mars.

The Moon is in the 8th house and is the 4th house ruler.

I was about to speak to him 2 hours later, so I naturally determined to tell him that the horary indicated it would be a very bad purchase and not hold its value, but I felt that the Moon’s applying aspect might suggest he would go on and buy it anyway, because he liked the piece and felt that it would look good in his new home (Moon as 4th house ruler).

When I showed him the horary and told him that the painting was a poor investment, he admitted that he had already made an offer on it and the sellers had quickly accepted his offer, just over an hour after he asked me the question.

Which is a stunning confirmation of the horary as the Moon has just over 1 degree to go to perfect the trine with Venus.

On seeing the horary and recognising that the painting would be a poor investment, he resolved to pull out of the deal. He said that he was surprised how quickly the sellers had accepted his offer. We realised that this speed of response reflected the fact that they saw it as a very good deal for them.

His decision to pull out of the deal occurred just over 2.5 hours after he asked the question.

The Moon’s applying square to Mars (him) perfects in just over 2.5 degrees time.

This is quantum physics in action.

Later in the consultation, he explained that there was another piece from the same sellers that he was interested in and wondered whether the same conditions would apply to that purchase.

So we did an on the spot horary.

Again there is stunning confirmation as we now have Taurus rising and the chart ruler this time is Venus which is a mere couple of degrees away from his Sun.

For this horary we have a late Ascendant (28 degrees).

Usually this means that it is unwise to judge the question because there is very little energy left in it to allow it to come to fruition. There is also the notion that the querent actually suspects this to be the case anyway.

This was indeed the case, when asking the question after seeing the other horary he was expecting the answer to be no.

But we can still have a look at it to check whether this second painting would be a good investment.

This time the 2nd house has Gemini on the cusp so the painting is ruled by Mercury.

Mercury is in detriment in Pisces, combust (conjunct the Sun) and retrograde, so probably an even worse purchase than the other one.

My client has Uranus conjunct his Ascendant and is totally comfortable with the quantum nature of horary astrology. It fits and confirms his own world view anyway.

As an Aries with Sagittarius rising he has a naturally open minded and experimental approach to life. He is comfortable with opening himself up to the language of the Universe. The more he uses it, through horary, the more clearly it speaks to him and the greater the rewards are.
