Politics on Earth in the last few years has become a lot more like Star Wars. The one consolation to this is at least the earthlings that are actually human, know which team to support.
On the one side we have the Jedi knights, the peacekeepers, on the other side there are the Sith Lords who use the dark side by manipulating fear and aggression.
In Australia it’s pretty clear who is who.

Leader of the Sith Coalition is Peter Dutton, better known as PeDu, Baldemort, Duttplug, Herr Kipfler or Temu Trump and who appropriately has a Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio opposite Saturn.
Darth Vader himself would kill for one of those.
His opponent, is certainly on the light side.

Current Prime Minister, Labor leader, Anthony Albanese with Sun in Pisces and Moon in Gemini is no Obi Wan Kenobi.
My previous description of him as leader of the opposition to Scummo’s government, was of the dormouse who had just woken up at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
Albo is more like Yoda – he knows all the right words, but has trouble getting them in the right order. He’s also about the same size and looks like the Jedi Grand Master.
For much of his three years as Australian Prime Minister, Albanese has had Saturn in his T square, so the responsibilities and frustrations of being in office have curtailed many of his instincts.
Contrast that with the fact that this period has seen Jupiter and Uranus oppose Dutton’s Sun so his profile (both political and financial) has expanded considerably as opposition leader.
The 2022 election occurred with Saturn square Dutton’s Sun (and Morrison’s Taurean one) so his party were booted out office and he did well to hang on to his seat.
But Albanese’s poor politicking around the referendum on the Voice gave Dutton an opportunity to drag himself back into contention as a dog whistling culture warrior, appealing to the lowest common denominator down under.
The 2025 election had to called by mid May, my expressed view was that Albanese needed to leave it as late as possible to allow Dutton’s Uranus to pass.
How will it go then?
It’s always difficult when you don’t know the birthtime of either protagonist. Pluto could be trine Albanese’s Moon, Uranus could even be conjunct it. It could be sextile Dutton’s Moon.
When in doubt, best look at the chart for the election itself.

Uranus is barely a degree past opposition to Dutton’s Sun but it will be a major feature in this election because its sitting there right on the Ascendant of the poll opening chart.
So that is already suggesting some kind of shock.
Opening poll contest charts are best treated like a horary as if the question what is going to happen has been asked.
A late Ascendant never bodes well and many traditional astrologers would not touch this one. I always accept it as a challenge.
The ruler Venus would be Albanese as holder of the office. It being placed in the 10th house makes sense as he is in the job. In the sign of its detriment and conjunct Neptune does not bode well, treading through quicksand is not where he would want to be.
Fortunately for him, Venus is just beginning to separate so there is the faint possibility of him being dragged out of the mire.
Pluto, as Descendant ruler for Dutton is in the 9th house.
The Moon (always the most important in terms of what is going to happen), applies to neither, so there is no clear winner. In fact it only has two more aspects to make, sextile Uranus and trine Saturn.
Uranus must refer to the many Independent candidates that will be put forward in this election. I am sure they will hold the balance of power so in effect there will be a hung parliament.
Saturn in the 10th house suggest some kind of coalition will be formed to make it work.
One very significant point is that on May 3rd, Pluto has stationed at 3.49 Aquarius and from the 5th begins to move backwards, so I believe this is as far as it goes for Dutton.
Venus will sextile Pluto so there will probably be some talks involving all parties over the weekend but it goes on to trine Mars, the 11th house ruler, suggesting the Prime Minister will get a little bit of help from his friends.

Adam Bandt, the Green Party leader is another Piscean but a Capricorn Moon makes him a tougher cookie than Albanese.
The two “left wing” leaders have a love/hate relationship as Bandt’s Sun is conjunct Albanese’s Jupiter but his Saturn is conjunct the Prime Minister’s Moon.
Bandt has also had Saturn transits and is only slowly beginning to emerge from these.
With this in mind I feel that Saturn in the contest chart refers to the Green Party.
Uranus therefore would be the Teals.
For the benefit of non Australian readers, Teals “are various centrist, independent or minor party politicians in Australian politics who have been grouped together collectively for ease of discussion by the media in Australia. They have been characterised as strongly advocating for increased action to mitigate climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions along with improved political integrity and accountability. They also generally share socially liberal outlooks, including on issues such as LGBT rights, and have harnessed grassroots campaigning to achieve strong swings towards them.
The eponymous colour teal, which has been interpreted by some journalists as a blend of the blue of the Liberal Party and a green signifying green politics.”
Teals became a thing during the 2022 election with the aim of taking suburban and inner city seats away from a Liberal party that had swung too far to the right. They won 7 of those seats and have made a significant contribution as Crossbenchers. All bar one are women.
Looking at the contest chart for 2025, they would be expected to make more gains, enough to force a situation where no single party holds a majority of seats on its own.
The most likely result would see Labor forming an arrangement with the Greens and the Teals to enable them to continue in power.
It’s looking like a much weakened Albanese will just about struggle on but I feel his days are numbered. Transit Uranus conjunct his Moon will probably see him lose the top job at some point, we just don’t know exactly when that will be.
Darth Troll is facing a tight contest in his own seat in Dickson, but Jupiter will be conjunct his Moon and trine his Sun in the Autumn so I can’t see him going anywhere.
As for Albanese, maybe he should follow the wisdom of his Star Wars character.
