While Elvis has to be the King of Rock and Roll, there’s equally no question as to who is the Queen.

If rock and roll were to be found anywhere in the chart, it would be the 5th house. It’s all about creativity and drama. It also has connections with royalty.
Both Elvis and Tina had T Square apex planets there.
Princess Diana had a T square apex Venus in the 5th. Hers was in Taurus and she was the Queen of Hearts.
Tina’s apex planet is Venus in Sagittarius so she must be the Queen of Clubs.
The other planets involved are Jupiter in Pisces and Neptune which is the kind of thing you might expect for some Hollywood screen goddess, so she could be the Queen of Diamonds as well but the apex Venus in Sagittarius gives it a more powerful, assertive and raunchy feel.
There’s always a directness about a Sagittarius Sun and this would be amplified by an apex Venus there. So maybe the Queen of Spades as well.
But Tina Turner has another T Square.
This is the one with the Sun opposite Moon in Gemini in the 10th focusing onto an apex Mars in the 7th house.
To have two T squares is unusual. To have Venus and Mars as the apex planets is extraordinary. To have them in the two houses of relationship is off the scale. I can’t think of anyone else with this combo.
Neither can I think of anyone else who has such comparable physical energy and sheer magnetic power and kept on putting it out there at the age when most of us would struggle to reach the TV remote.
This power is what an apex Mars and Venus will give you.
Tina Turner’s love life has been well documented.
Her marriage to Ike with all the violence and manipulative behaviour is what we would expect from an apex Mars in the 7th, particularly given how tightly square to the Sun it is.
If an abusive, violent marriage is part of your destiny, it goes without saying that marriage would be shown by progression.
The strongest indication of a soulmate coming into someone’s life are the progressions of the Venus and the Sun.
Whether its the Sun to Venus, Venus to the Sun or Venus to Venus, you are unlikely to get more than 1 of each during a lifetime.
So they are very significant.
Tina Turner’s progressed Sun was conjunct her Venus from 1959 to 61 when her relationship with Ike began.
Here we have the Two T squares coming together.
Tina had an apex Mars in the 7th house which totally sums up her marriage to Ike. The violence and manipulation would have broken most people but she was a practitioner of Nichiren Buddhism and used chanting to give her the strength to break free from her relationship.
Mars made only one progressed conjunction in her lifetime, with Jupiter which occurred in 1976 when she left Ike.
Many people have two soulmates, one who is there to help them work through the major chart themes that they have, particularly relationship ones. This mate would probably be related to Solar progressions.
The other could be that person’s true love, particularly if they come into their life at a later date. This mate would be more to do with the progressions of Venus.
Because Tina’s Venus is ahead of the Sun, it will make no progressed aspect until the sextile, which would come a fair bit later on.
Tina’s progressed Venus was sextile her natal Venus between late 1986 and 1988 when she started her relationship with Erwin Bach.
This was the first time she ever experienced love in her life and they were together for 37 years until her recent death.
Intriguingly they did not get married until 2013, when Tina’s progressed Venus was square to her Venus.
What about Tina’s synastry with the two men ?

We don’t have a birthtime so we can’t get a picture of Ike Turner’s 7th house themes.
But it’s often the case that the Universe compensates for this by delivering a noon chart that says something anyway.
Ike had a Venus / Mars conjunction which was complicated by the fact that Venus was in the intense and controlling sign of Scorpio and Mars in the assertive and direct sign of Sagittarius.
Ike ” claimed to have been married fourteen times. He often married another woman before divorcing his existing wife. Speaking on his early marriages, he said:
“You gave a preacher two dollars, the (marriage) papers cost three dollars, that was it. In those days, blacks did not bother with divorces.”
Ike’s Progressed Sun was conjunct his natal Venus for the first one to Edna Dean Stewart when he was 16 years old.
His noon chart places his Venus / Mars conjunction in the 10th house, so his career would feature this energy very powerfully.
Its certainly true that Ike Turner would have been a relatively unknown Southern American musician if it hadn’t been for his relationship with Tina.
Ike had Mars at 4 Sagittarius exactly conjunct Tina’s Sun and square to her own 7th house Mars.
This intense synastry also clearly paints him into the picture as her abuser.
Ike had a Mars / Neptune square aspect and his Neptune was exactly square to Tina’s Moon and formed a Grand Cross with her T square.
The Moon’s Nodes have often been linked with a person’s karma.
His Mars was exactly sextile and trine the Nodes.
This feature was picked out when he married Tina. Ike’s progressed Venus was square to both Nodes at the time, it was also semi sextile his Mars.
When she left him his progressed Venus was opposite his Pluto.
What about the true love of Tina’s life ?

Again we only have a noon chart, but it provides some important clues.
Erwin Bach has Mars at 6 Sagittarius, also conjunct Tina’s Sun.
It’s in the noon chart 7th house.
Mars there being conjunct Saturn could indicate having an older marriage partner as there was a 16 year difference between him and Tina.
Erwin’s Venus at 8 Pisces is conjunct Tina’s 7th house Mars.
They share the same Moon sign.
His Sun is sextile Tina’s Sun and trine her Moon.
The karmic nature of Erwin’s relationship with Tina would be evidenced by the fact that his Progressed Venus was ( like Ike ‘s ) aspecting the Nodes when it started.
Unlike Ike’s square Venus / Nodes aspect progression, in late 1986 when he and Tina began their relationship, Erwin’s progressed Venus was trine his North Node and sextile his South one.
Erwin Bach has his Sun sextile a noon chart 7th house Saturn.
He married Tina in 2013 when his progressed Sun was trine his Saturn.
Tina Turner’s great hit What’s Love Got To Do With It was released in 1984, a couple of years before she met Erwin. Up to that point she had never experienced love in her life.
The chart for the single’s release shows that simple fact very clearly.

With the Sun and Moon in Taurus and Venus in Aries you can certainly see someone who was looking for love.
The horrible oppositions from these three to Mars, Saturn and Pluto in Scorpio shows that not only would she not have got it, but she would have received a lot of pain and violence instead.
After meeting Erwin she released

The stresses of the horrific oppositions in the previous chart have disappeared and been replaced by the sweetest of Grand Trines involving the Sun, Moon, Mars, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
Jupiter adds its own flavour as a Kite planet.
Tina Turner was the Queen of Rock and Roll, there will never be another like her.
Her life was totally Sagittarian powered by her two T squares.
She was aided by two soulmates, one a devil, the other an angel.
We can see both, because Progressed Soulmate Synastry is Simply The Best.
