Karma Is An Itch

The law of karma is much misunderstood.

This is primarily because we are caught in conditioned old time religious notions of good and bad in relation to ourselves. So we tend to see karma as some vast cosmic balance sheet which will bring appropriate reward for our actions.

Our understanding of cause and effect is limited to our actions, good or bad.

But what actually happens to us is what we want to happen.

This sounds like a gross over simplification, but if we extend it to include all of the desires, wishes, thoughts, feelings, anxieties  and projections that we are unconsciously carrying around with us, it is actually the truth.

Because these unresolved things are what propels and even creates our life from one moment to the next.

The Universe simply reflects all this back at us.

At some point in the future we will experience the inevitable consequences of all this because these are the things we are constantly asking for.

It may occur in the next 5 minutes or in the next lifetime. When it happens is also intimately tied up with our own thoughts and projections.

In a way you could say that what we are is the accumulation of these unresolved unconscious things. If we had none of them we would cease to exist as a seperate self.

We believe that when we die, these things die with us, but that is more conditioned nonsense.

They have a life of their own and will go on perpetrating experience until they reach resolution.

This is what brings us back again and again and keeps us tied to the wheel of karma.

When we die, all these unresolved impressions naturally and effortlessly create our next life.

They pick a birthchart with symbolic patterns that reflect them and we are born at the exact moment we are meant to and that we have unconsciously chosen.

Through my studies with astrological regression I have become aware of a series of lives that I have lived since the 17th century that have oscillated between the spiritual and the material.

This pattern began when as a rich man in eastern Turkey, my soulmate was murdered and from my resulting despair, I renounced everything and spent the rest of my days secluded in a Sufi monastery.

I could detail all the others since then but the ones that have created my current life patterns started during the 19th century when I was born into a poor but devout Buddhist family in Sri Lanka. I was unhappy with my lot however and dreamed of a comfortable material life.

So as a consequence I was reincarnated in the 1870s as the son of a rich American industrialist. I took over the family business but drowned in 1915 along with my two sons. We were sailing to the UK and the ship was torpedoed by a German sub.

I had just recently reacquainted with my soulmate. My dying thoughts were that I would happily renounce all my wealth just to be able to live with her again.

So I was reincarnated three years later along with her as a poor village couple living on the Eastern side of Tibet.

I was content in that life but I also had a dream of going to a monastery to study astrology. This was never fulfilled as we were both killed in the first Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1950.

I was reborn in the UK 4 years later with a very monastic type of chart.

A Sun, Moon Capricorn in the 12th house set me up for a serious and austere life.

Venus conjunct Saturn meant that I would not meet my soulmate again until much later.

But the main aspect pattern in my chart, a very tight T Square between my Capricorn Ascendant opposite Jupiter/Uranus and with an apex Neptune in the 9th house focused on the key themes, which have been astrology and spirituality.

I was not aware that I had chosen this life and deeply resented it at first.

All of human life is governed by the two movements of the Earth, around on itself in a day and around the Sun in a year.

The Earth’s movement around on itself gives us the 12 houses in astrology. The houses denote the areas of our life. If we have planets in a particular house, they will determine the experience that we have to have there.

These placement experiences will be triggered by transits.

If you have a 10th house Sun and transit Jupiter conjuncts it, you will likely experience some kind of promotion at work.

If you have Venus in the 7th house and transit Uranus opposes it, you are just as likely to get divorced.

The other movement, the Earth’s orbit around the Sun gives us the 12 signs that correspond to our personality, but it is also this that gives us the possibility to see our own life within the broader context of all possible life.

This yearly orbit offers the chance to see our individual life as a part of our soul’s overall journey through many of them.

The way to see the intersection between this life and our other ones is through the method of Secondary Progressions/Regressions which is calculated by taking a day’s earthly rotation to stand for a year’s trip round the Sun.

This is a method that unfolds slowly.

The most important progression is that of the Sun. As the Sun moves approximately one degree per day, by progression it would move up to 90 degrees during most people’s lifetime.

Consequently the progressed Sun would make only one major aspect with any one of our placements in a lifetime.

It is at this point that we have an experience that is not just of this life, it is powerfully related to the karma that carries over from previous ones.

My progressed Sun reached my T square at the age of 21. Its first contact was the opposition to my Uranus. This was when I discovered astrology.

18 months later it reached the square to my apex 9th house Neptune. This was when I discovered Buddhism on a visit to Samye Ling, a Tibetan monastery in Scotland.

It was this progression that connected me with my last life and the themes that I had chosen to explore in this one.

I continued to explore both in my 12th house seclusion for 40 years until my progressed Venus reached the same place.

At the age of 63, my soulmate found me and I moved to the other side of the world (pr Venus conjunct Ascendant opposite Jupiter/Uranus in 7th house T Square apex Neptune in 9th), to be with her.

Apart from the Moon, these are the only progressions of my life to my T square and they have clearly connected me strongly with my past life experience.

I now recognise that I chose this experience even though I could not claim to have been conscious of it at the time.

But there are a few rare souls who consciously choose their own next incarnation.

In the article Don’t Dalai On The Path I wrote about one highly evolved soul who deliberately chose to die early in order to arrange the next one.

For the first 15 years of my Tibetan life, the spiritual leader of the nation was the 13th Dalai Lama.

He saw the writing on the wall and knew there would be an invasion coming from China.

He also realised that this would come when he was in his mid 70s and he would either be too old, or his next incarnation would be too young to be able to help his subjects.

So he took the decision to die before his allotted time, in order to allow the next Dalai Lama time to grow up before the Chinese took over.

He died in 1933 at the age of 57 in order to make life easier for his successor, who was born a couple of years later.

This is an extraordinary conscious use of reincarnation for a particular end, with an immense personal sacrifice for the sake of his religion and his people.

Can we see the astrology of this?

There is no birthtime available for the 13th Dalai Lama but we can see the chief theme from the noon chart.

The Sun is opposite Uranus.

It is clear that this is referring to the invasion from China.

The chart for Mao’s China has a Mars/Pluto conjunction in Leo in the 7th house of enemies.

The Chinese Pluto is a mere 5 minutes from the Uranus in the 13th Dalai Lama’s chart.

The Sun/Uranus opposition in the Dalai Lama’s chart forms a T square with an apex Pluto. This shows that his awareness of the coming invasion prompted him to take an early death.

He was reincarnated as the 14th, the current Dalai Lama.

My recent discovery of the Karmic Relationship Chart enables us to look into these connections with other people either in our current lives or our past ones.

The KR chart involves progressing or regressing a birthchart to the birth moment of the other person.

This is the 13th’s KR chart with the 14th.

The 13th’s progressed Sun/Moon relationship is exactly the same as his natal one (a quincunx)

The 13th’s progressed Sun is exactly sextile its natal position (22 Aquarius).

The progressed Moon is also exactly sextile its natal position (25 Virgo).

The progressed Mars is exactly opposite his natal Jupiter (0 Sagittarius).

The progressed Venus is exactly conjunct his noon chart natal Ascendant (6 Gemini).

The progressed Sun forms a trine with Uranus rather than the opposition of his natal chart which shows the 13th’s intention to die and be reborn in a situation that would make it easier to deal with the Chinese invasion.

He was reborn a the 14th, the current Dalai Lama.

“His Holiness The Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of the Tibetan Buddhists, has one of the most beautiful natal charts I’ve ever seen.

A Water Grand Trine between a Cancer Sun and Ascendant, Jupiter and Saturn forms a Kite with a Moon/Neptune conjunction in Virgo, indicating a highly evolved soul whose whole existence is devoted to compassion, service and giving spiritual nourishment to his people.

All of these placements operate within a 3 degree range, a simple astrological fact that elevates his life themes onto a global level.

It goes without saying that the biggest challenge to the Dalai Lama in this life comes from his Moon in the 3rd house opposite Saturn in the 9th.

This shows that his homeland and his people (Moon) has been taken over by a controlling foreign power (Saturn in the 9th) and he is forced to take up residence in a neighbouring country (Moon in the 3rd).”

What about his connection to his predecessor?

If we construct a Karmic Relationship Chart and regress his chart back to the birthdate of the 13th Dalai Lama we get this one.

The extraordinary thing is that just like the 13th, the Sun/Moon aspect (sextile) in His Holiness’ natal chart is recreated in this regressed chart.

The regressed Moon is exactly (1/3 degree orb) conjunct his natal Sun (12.57 Cancer).

The regressed Mercury is exactly square to his natal Venus.

The regressed Venus is exactly conjunct his natal Mercury.

The regressed Mars is exactly square to his natal Ascendant.

The Chinese invasion of Tibet in the 14th Dalai Lama’s natal chart is signified by Saturn opposite his Moon.

This regression places the Moon in trine to that Saturn.

So whichever way we do this KR chart, from the 13th to the 14th or the 14th to the 13th, we see that an opposition is turned into a trine by the Dalai Lama’s decision to die early and reincarnate.

The Chinese invasion of Tibet began in October 1950 and as mentioned at the beginning of this article I was one of the earlier casualties.

“The Chinese stranglehold over Tibet increased throughout the following decade. The Tibetan uprising began on 10 March 1959 as a series of protests in the capital of Lhasa, fuelled by fears that the Chinese planned to arrest the Dalai Lama. After protesters acquired weapons, the Chinese shelled protesters in the Dalai Lama’s summer palace and deployed tanks to suppress the demonstrations. Bloody fighting continued for the next three days while the Dalai Lama escaped to India on 17 March 1959.”

The first Dalai Lama was born in 1391. This was the first time any of them were permanently exiled outside Tibet.

So it would be a monumentally critical karmic moment for His Holiness, the office of Dalai Lama and his people.

Which is clearly reflected in his progressed chart for that day.

With the progressed Moon, Mercury and Pluto right on the progressed Ascendant we can clearly see the radical departure and the forced exit on foot over the Himalayas.

Note the exact Sun/Uranus square.

It seems that this was the moment that the 13th Dalai Lama’s fears for the future of Tibet with his Sun/Uranus opposition came true.

We can see that if we progress the 13th’s chart those 26 years after his death to the moment his successor was forced to leave.

In the kind of stunning revelation that only the quantum nature of the astrology of past lives can bring, the 13th Dalai Lama’s progression to this date also has the exact Sun/Uranus square.

And this one includes the progressed Ascendant as well.

Also it’s important to note that the 13th’s progressed Pluto had closed to an orb of 1 minute square to his natal Sun (22.54 Aquarius).

These correspondences are all so exact, the odds of them occurring by chance are millions to one against.

They are irrefutable proof of the existence of reincarnation, of the passing of the baton from the 13th to the 14th Dalia Lama and also of the stunning accuracy of my discovery of the Karmic Relationship Chart to describe these connections.

The decision of the 13th Dalai Lama to take an early death was not enough in itself to save Tibet from Chinese rule, but because it allowed his successor to be old enough to escape the country and set up in Dharamsala, this gave Tibetan Buddhism the chance to be spread to the West and to save the religion from being destroyed by the Maoists.

Without this there would be no Samye Ling, the first Tibetan monastery to be set up in the West.

And I would not have been able to live out my past life wish to study astrology at a monastery.

Karma is an itch, we will definitely get to scratch it in the end.

If you want to scratch it now why not check out your own Karmic Relationship Chart?
